There are plenty of puzzling secrets and fearsome foes in Genshin Impact's many regions, from Mondstadt to the recently released island region of Inazuma. For every new challenge, your party of heroes from the game is ready to take them on. However, just having a party of powerful characters in Genshin Impact isn't enough. A lot of times, you'll need special elements or even characters who play specific roles, such as healers. One of the most accessible and capable healers in the game is none other than Mondstadt's very own star, Barbara.
Barbara is a fantastic character for so many reasons, including her abilities, Elemental Skill and Burst, accessibility, and ease of build. She works well with a lot of characters, but there are also certain characters that she absolutely steals the show alongside. Whether you're taking on a new boss, challenging the Spiral Abyss, or just clearing out some story quests, here are some of the best team members for Barbara, ensuring she'll always have multiple roles to play in your party.
8/8 Xingqiu
Xingqiu is, without a doubt, one of the best characters in the game. An absolutely excellent Sub-DPS, Xingqiu has a solid defense stat, fast attack speed, and decent attack stat. His Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst stay on the field even when you switch him out with another character, making it easier for you to build reactions. Plus, he's a four-star character, meaning you probably already have him, or it shouldn't be too hard to get him or build his constellation, making him even more powerful.
When it comes to putting him on the same team as Barbara, he and Barbara both benefit from it. Having two Hydro characters on the same team ensures that you'll get the Hydro Elemental Resonance bonus, which is essentially increased healing. This boosts what Barbara is best at: healing your allies. With both Xingqiu and Barbara on your team, the rest of your party is in good hands.
7/8 Xiangling
With lightning-fast attacks and a powerful Elemental Burst, Xiangling is a great team member for Barbara. Xiangling is also a free character and you can get her for free by clearing out a few floors of Spiral Abyss if you haven't already, making her a prime choice for Genshin Impact newcomers and veterans alike.
Xiangling is a great choice for a team with Barbara thanks to a variety of factors. Since Xiangling is a great choice for both Sub-DPS or DPS, depending on her build, you'll need someone to initiate reactions or keep the heat off of her so she stays with a high HP. Barbara's healing will keep her going, and her Elemental Skill, which provides periodical healing and surrounds the active character with Hydro, can help set up Vaporize reactions.
6/8 Razor
If you're a fan of heavy-hitting claymore characters, Razor might be a good choice for you to pair with Barbara on your team. He's a unique fighter who could benefit from Barbara's Elemental Burst healing. What make Razor such a great choice is how sturdy he can be, and that also makes him reliant on a healer such as Barbara.
Razor's Elemental Burst makes him more resistant to interruption, plus it imbues his attacks with Electro. A good strategy would be to use Barbara's Elemental Skill and have Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers equipped on her, then to swap out to Razor and use his Elemental Burst. You'd give Razor an attack boost thanks to Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers, and would be able to create Electro-Charged reactions with Barbara's Elemental Skill surrounding Razor.
5/8 Bennett
Bennett is so versatile and powerful, he's well suited to any team. But if you make a team with both him and Barbara on it, you'll be unstoppable.
Bennett is great because he's both a great Pyro character and a good Sub-DPS. His Elemental Skill has a short cooldown and spamming it lets you charge your Elemental Burst, which provides attack stat boosts and even healing to your party. If Barbara is struggling to keep the party healed, Bennett can pick up the slack. That's not all, though. He can also work well with Barbara's Elemental Skill to create powerful Vaporize reactions.
4/8 Kaeya
Since Kaeya is one of Genshin Impact's free characters, that automatically makes him a lot easier to build than the many characters available to you only through Genshin Impact's gacha system. Kaeya is a good DPS or Sub-DPS, depending on how you build him, and can stack up damage relatively quickly.
Kaeya's element is Cryo, making him work well with Barbara since he can use his Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst after you use Barbara's abilities, letting you freeze enemies. You can even take this a step further by bringing out another DPS character on your team to attack the now-frozen enemies.
3/8 Rosaria
Rosaria is one of the newer four-star characters in the game, and she's unique at the moment, being the only Cryo polearm character in the game. Rosaria is best for attacking characters quickly, and her Elemental Skill allows her to teleport behind an enemy and attack from the back while increasing her critical rate. Her Elemental Burst deals a large amount of Cryo damage too.
Again, Rosaria is a good choice for a Barbara team if you're aiming to focus on freezing enemies. While you can't use Rosaria's Elemental Skill to teleport behind larger enemies, you can freeze them using Barbara and Rosaria and then simply go behind the enemy and attack using Rosaria's Elemental Skill.
2/8 Diluc
Diluc is available as a permanent five-star character, which means you can possibly summon him at any point, on any banner. Even though he has been around since the release of Genshin Impact, that doesn't mean he's any less powerful and capable than his contemporaries. In fact, Diluc is easily one of the best DPS characters in the game, and pairing him up with Barbara will make you pretty much unstoppable.
Diluc, being a Pyro character, can enable Vaporize reactions easily with the help of a Hydro character. Having Barbara on a team with him, and maybe even an additional Hydro character such as Xingqiu to improve healing and keep the Hydro Elemental Skills going, you can keep spamming Vaporize reactions and destroy any challenge that comes your way.
1/8 Hu Tao
Hu Tao is another one of Genshin Impact's best DPS characters, and she's also a Pyro character as it turns out. However, it's a lot harder to get her since she's a limited character. But if you have her, consider yourself very lucky.
Hu Tao is a bit of a glass cannon character, as using her means you have to rely a lot on her Elemental Skill, which essentially increases her damage output by sacrificing HP. This can lead to frequent instances of your Hu Tao being almost dead, or even dead, by the end of a battle. Having Barbara around can prevent that, thanks to her healing. But she can also help by providing the Hydro for Vaporize or an attack boost with Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers. If you have Barbara at C6, she can even auto-revive a knocked out character, such as Hu Tao.
