The Head of the Kamisato Clan, Ayato is a Hydro-user and sword-wielder in Genshin Impact. He’s a five-star character, meaning he’s pretty hard to come across, but if you snag him the Azure Excursion Event Wish, you’ll enjoy having him in your ranks.

He can be equipped to be a strong main DPS on the battlefield or a useful support DPS off the battlefield. Regardless of how you intend to use him, you’ll want to make sure he has a way to restore his stamina - be it with artifacts or through his sword. Like a lot of the sword-carrying Genshin characters, Ayato offers strong stats, and your weapon choice for him will only enhance them.

10/10 The Sacrificial Sword - Four Star

The Sacrificial Sword is pretty easy to come by through Wishes and is often recommended as a starter weapon for all sword-using characters. Its Base Attack is between 41 and 454, depending on what level you have Ayato trained to in the game. The secondary stat is Energy Recharge - the most helpful for Ayato - and that will get a boost between 13.3 percent and 61.3 percent.

Once you’ve dealt damage to an enemy with Ayato's Elemental Skill, the Sacrificial Sword has a 40 percent chance of ending its own cooldown period once every 30 seconds.

9/10 The Favonius Sword - Four Star

Also obtained through Wishes, the Favonius Sword is nearly identical to the Sacrificial Sword in terms of stats. You’ll also see a boost to Ayato’s Base Attack between 41 and 454, depending on his level, and an Energy Recharge substat boost between 13.3 and 61.3 percent.

The main difference is in Crit hits. While both of these weapons are good for a main DPS Ayato, this one will give him a 60 percent chance to create Elemental Particles with any Crit hits, and this will in turn generate six Energy every 12 seconds.

8/10 The Blackcliff Longsword - Four Star

You’ll have to go through Paimon’s Bargains to get the Blackcliff Longsword. Once equipped, Ayato will get between a 44 and 565 Base Attack boost, and see his Crit Damage go up anywhere from eight percent to 36.8 percent with the secondary stat increase.

After you’ve defeated an opponent, Ayato’s Attack will increase by 12 percent for 30 seconds. This can be stacked up to three times, and each stack is independent of the rest, meaning you can continue to stack as they wear off, instead of waiting for the entire stack to disappear.

7/10 The Flute - Four Star

The Flute can be found using wishes at any time. Ayato’s Base Attack will increase between 42 and 510, depending on his level. The substat of the Flute is Attack, which gives a boost between nine percent and 41.3 percent.

When using the Flute, Normal and Charged Attacks grant a Harmonic on hits. Once you’ve gained five Harmonics, it will trigger the Power of Music and begin dealing 100 percent Attack damage to any surrounding enemies.

6/10 The Amenoma Kageuchi - Four Star

If you’ve collected the necessary items, you can forge the Amenoma Kageuchi yourself at the blacksmith’s shop. Ayato’s Base Attack will get a boost between 41 and 454, depending on the level you’ve trained him to in the game. The substat is Attack and has a 12 to 55.1 percent boost.

Once you’ve used Ayato’s Elemental Skill, you’ll gain one Succession Seed. This can be triggered once every five seconds, and it will last for 30 seconds at a time. Up to three Succession Seeds can exist at once. If you use Ayato’s Elemental Burst, this will consume the Seeds, and each one becomes six Energy.

5/10 The Royal Longsword - Four Star

Another sword you’ll get through Paimon’s Bargains, the Royal Longsword boosts Ayato’s Base Attack between 42 and 510, with a substat of Attack, which increases between nine and 41.3 percent, both depending on what level you have him trained to in the game.

After you’ve dealt damage to an opponent, Crit Rate increases by eight percent, with a max of five stacks. If you use a Crit hit, however, this removes all existing stacks.

4/10 The Skyward Blade - Five Star

Obtained at a regular rate through Wishes, the Skyward Blade increases Ayato’s Base Attack anywhere between 46 and 608. It also has a secondary stat of Energy Recharge, giving him a boost between 12 and 55.1 percent.

Along with the other stat benefits, his Crit Rate will increase by four percent, and he’ll gain Skypiercing Might when using Elemental Burst. This will boost Movement Speed and Attack Speed by ten percent, plus give Normal and Charged hits additional damage equivalent to 20 percent of his Base Attack.

3/10 The Primordial Jade Cutter - Five Star

Obtainable through Weapon Event Wishes, the Primordial Jade Cutter is useful if you’re building Ayato to be a main DPS on the battlefield. Base Attack gets a boost between 44 and 542, depending on his level, and the secondary stat boosts his Crit Rate between 9.6 and 44.1 percent.

Ayato will also get an increase in his HP by 20 percent. On top of that, it provides an Attack bonus that is based on 1.2 percent of his overall max HP.

2/10 The Summit Shaper - Five Star

Also obtained through Weapon Event Wishes, the Summit Shaper is one of the more commonly recommended weapons for Ayato. It gives a 46 to 608 boost to Base Attack, as well as a substat of Attack with increases between 10.8 percent and 49.6 percent.

Though it doesn’t increase HP or Energy, it does increase Ayato’s shield strength by 20 percent. Any hits on enemies will give him an Attack bonus of four percent for eight seconds, for up to five stacks. While he’s protected by the shield, Attack increase effect is increased another 100 percent.

1/10 The Mistsplitter Reforged - Five Star

Arguably the best sword for Ayato, the Mistsplitter Reforged can be found in Weapon Event Wishes. The Base Attack increase runs from 48 to 674, depending on his level, and the substat of Crit damage will increase between 9.6 and 44.1 percent.

You’ll gain a 12 percent Elemental damage bonus, and get the Might of the Mistsplitter’s Emblem. With this, Normal Attacks will deal Elemental damage for up to five seconds, Elemental Burst lasting ten seconds, as long as his Energy is less than 100 percent. Each stack is independent of the others, so you can continue stacking as each runs out.
