Genshin Impact boasts an impressive roster of five-star characters, and many of these five-stars can easily be integrated into a team to help you progress through the game. Sangonomiya Kokomi is no exception to this rule, as she can act as an excellent Hydro Catalyst support for your team. When built correctly, she can also make a nice sub-DPS; just don't expect her to hit as hard as Ganyu or Hu Tao on her own.

The most important thing to note about Kokomi is that she is a character who can be an effective healer even at very low investment levels, but she can be built up to offer much, much more to your team. The guide below will help you unlock Kokomi's full potential.

Updated March 12, 2022, by Kyle Gorges: Kokomi has perhaps had the best rags-to-riches story within Genshin Impact's metagame. Upon her release, many players dismissed her as nothing more than a "five-star Barbara" capable of healing and little else. Since then, though, she has proven to be an invaluable part of numerous team compositions due to her flexibility and Hydro prowess. This guide has been updated to reflect her evolution within the game's meta.

Best Weapons For Sangonomiya Kokomi

Weapon Name Base ATK Secondary Stat Passive Ability
Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers 39 HP When switching characters from Kokomi, the new character will have their ATK increased by 24% for 10s. This effect can occur once every 20s.
Prototype Amber 42 HP When Kokomi uses her Elemental Burst, she will regenerate 4 Energy every 2s for 6s total. In addition, all party members will regenerate 4% HP every 2s for the same duration.
Hakushin Ring 44 Energy Recharge When Kokomi triggers Electro Reactions, all party members gain a 10% Elemental DMG Bonus for the elements involved in the reaction. This effect lasts 6s.
Everlasting Moonglow 46 HP Kokomi's Healing Bonus is increased by 10% and her Normal Attack DMG is increased by 1% of her maximum HP. For 12s after she uses her Elemental Burst, Kokomi's Normal Attack hits will restore 0.6 Energy.

Don't let its three-star status fool you—Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers is an absolutely fantastic weapon choice for Kokomi. The ATK bonus that it provides on switching characters is nothing to scoff at, which is why this catalyst is so prolific on many of Genshin Impact's mages. Kokomi also has the advantage of benefiting from the weapon's provided HP, which improves her healing and damage during her Burst.

Prototype Amber and Hakushin Ring are also free-to-play-friendly catalysts for Kokomi since they can both be Forged (although Hakushin Ring requires completion of a certain quest involving a mask). Prototype Amber bolsters Kokomi's HP, grants her a little extra Energy regeneration, and also helps her heal allies further. Kokomi heals so much innately that this extra healing is a little redundant, but it might help you in a pinch. Hakushin Ring is specifically useful when Kokomi is used on Electro-Charge teams with characters like Fischl, Beidou, and Xingqiu, since she'll boost the Elemental DMG of both Hydro and Electro abilities.

The five-star Everlasting Moonglow is certainly a strong contender for Kokomi's weapon slot, and what you'll want to shoot for if you really want to prove your devotion to Watatsumi Island's Divine Priestess. This catalyst has a high Base ATK and an HP secondary stat, along with bonuses to her healing, Normal Attack DMG, and Energy Recharge. All of its attributes benefit Kokomi's abilities greatly, but keep in mind that this weapon is essentially only usable on her.

Best Artifacts For Sangonomiya Kokomi

Kokomi is a character whose damage scales off of her HP and Healing Bonus, meaning that her best Artifacts lean into her supportive capabilities while still exerting offensive pressure. Remember that her Artifacts can be farmed in Artifact Domains for a small Resin cost.

Artifact Name Two-Piece Set Bonus Four-Piece Set Bonus
Ocean-Hued Clam Healing Bonus +15% When Kokomi heals anyone in the party (including herself), a Sea-Dyed Foam will appear for 3s and begin accumulating the amount of HP recovered (plus excess healing). At the end of the duration, the Sea-Dyed Foam will explode, dealing DMG based on 90% of the accumulated healing. Only one Sea-Dyed Foam can be produced every 3.5s.
Tenactiy of the Millelith HP +20% When Kokomi's Elemental Skill hits an opponent, all party members' ATK is increased by 20% and their Shield Strength is increased by 30% for 3s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s.
Maiden Beloved Healing Bonus +15% When Kokomi uses her Elemental Skill or Burst, healing received by all party members is increased by 20% for 10s.

Kokomi has a unique trait whereby she has a 25 percent Healing Bonus in exchange for a 100 percent decrease in Crit Rate. Although the most stubborn of players might be able to overcome this caveat in pursuit of "ABSOLUTELY BONKERS ONE-SHOT CRITICAL STRIKE KOKOMI," in general you should do your best to avoid Crit stats on Kokomi's Artifacts since they are likely to be wasted. Instead, you should utilize HP/ER Sands, HP/Hydro DMG Bonus Goblets, and Healing Bonus Circlets. HP mainstats will help Kokomi shrug off blows from the fiercest of enemies and further improve her healing ability, while the ER and Hydro DMG Bonus options will elevate her Burst uptime and personal damage potential.

Kokomi's desired Artifact substats should similarly disregard Crit stats in favor of HP%, Energy Recharge, and ATK%. Elemental Mastery isn't strictly a bad substat either if you're using Kokomi in an Electro-Charged composition that takes advantage of frequent Reactions, but it's always a little ambiguous who actually procs Electro-Charged Reactions in this type of team.

Four-piece Ocean-Hued Clam is a great set for Kokomi if you plan on giving her dedicated field-time with her Burst. Capitalizing on Kokomi's Burst with this set will restore your team's health and deal surprising amounts of damage, both from Kokomi's attacks directly and the constant Sea-Dyed Foam explosions. This is an excellent plan if you want Kokomi to be the main driver of effects and Reactions in your team.

Four-piece Tenacity of the Millelith represents the flip side of Kokomi's playstyle, in which you utilize her solely for passive healing and buffing. Her Skill's jellyfish enables consistent activations of the Artifact set's effect, boosting your teammates' ATK stats while providing them with the usual healing and Hydro application.

Maiden Beloved could be considered a budget option for Kokomi if you don't feel like farming the other sets for her. This Artifact set simply allows Kokomi to heal more, which is probably excessive but technically not worthless.

Kokomi's Talents And Constellations

When it's finally time for you to level up Kokomi's Talents, you should prioritize them as such: Skill > Burst > Normal Attacks. No matter what playstyle you opt into for Kokomi, her Skill will be her primary source of healing, damage, and Hydro application, thus its importance. Her Burst is also valuable for a surge of healing and extra damage when available, while her Normal Attacks can be utilized during other characters' downtimes.

None of Kokomi's Constellations are particularly exceptional, but none of them are bad either. Her C1, C4, and C6 all provide various bonuses to her Burst, including extra damage, extra ATK SPD, and extra Energy restoration. Kokomi's C2 gives her abilities improved healing for party members below half health, which could be useful if your team is taking some heavy hits inside the Spiral Abyss. Feel free to roll for any of her Constellations if Kokomi is a character you enjoy a lot, but don't feel pressured to unlock them otherwise.
