Possibly the most complex character in Genshin Impact is Tartaglia, also known as Childe. The Snezhnaya native has been on both sides of the fence, as a Fatui in the Eleven Fatui Harbingers and as a recruitable character for you to play. His weapon of choice is the bow, and his element is Hydro, and when mixed with his personality, you’ll find he’s basically the opposite of Amber.

Childe is also able to use Electro, unlike other Genshin characters. This allows him to create his own resonances without teammates. In terms of hits, he either does heavy-hitting blows at a slower speed, or weaker-hitting blows at a rapid speed, so you’ll want to focus on compensating in one direction or the other depending on how you intend to use him.

Updated September 20, 2022, by Rebecca Timberlake: As with any game that is always evolving, Genshin Impact adds new characters to the playable roster and new weapons frequently. When they do, it causes players to reconsider what weapons match their characters the best. Since you're likely trying to decide which bow to place with which party member again, it's worth noting the large range that work well with Childe.

13/13 The Raven Bow - Three Stars

Three-star weapons are often overlooked because they're basic and so easy to come by, but having them is handy when you have a bow-user you've recently required. You might not want to give your highly refined bow to a lower ranking party member, so if you've just snagged Childe, the Raven Bow is a good pick.

It can be pulled from Wishes, and will raise his Base Attack between 40 and 448, depending on his level in the game. It also has the substat of Elemental Mastery, giving him an extra 20 to 94 to that stat. Lastly, when attacking enemies affected by Hydro or Pyro, you'll get an extra 12 percent damage.

12/13 The Mouun's Moon - Four Stars

You can obtain the Mouun's Moon bow from the Weapon Event Wishes. Childe's Base Attack will see an increase between 33 and 565, and the secondary stat of Attack will get an extra six to 27.6 percent.

He'll also get an additional 0.12 percent Elemental Burst damage based on the total number of the team's combined max Energy stats. This can be stacked until it hits a 40 percent increase to Childe's Burst damage.

11/13 The Viridescent Hunt – Four Stars

You won’t be able to get the Viridescent Hunt until you unlock Battle Pass at Adventure Rank 20, but once you get there, you can go through Gnostic Hymn objectives in Battle Pass to earn it. It increases Base Attack between 42 and 510, depending on your Childe’s level, and has a secondary stat of Crit Rate, which improves it by six percent up to 27.6 percent.

Whenever you connect a hit with him, Childe’s Normal or Aimed Shot Attacks will have a 50 percent chance to create a Cyclone effect. This Cyclone will continuously attract any enemies in its wake, and dole out 40 percent of Attack as straight damage to them. This can happen every half-second for up to four seconds.

10/13 The Stringless – Four Stars

Obtained at a normal rate through Wishes, the Stringless elevates Childe’s Base Attack between 42 and 510, depending on his level. Its secondary stat is Elemental Mastery, and gives it a boost of 36 to 165, also based on level.

The Elemental Mastery aspect of this weapon also allows for it to give a 24 percent boost to Childe’s Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst, so if you’re wanting to go all-in on his Pyro abilities, the Stringless can be extremely helpful.

9/13 The Rust – Four Stars

Another bow available through Wishes, the Rust boosts Base Attack between 42 and 510, based on Childe’s level. It offers a substat of Attack, increasing that nine to 41.3 percent, again based on his level in the game.

The Rust will increase Normal Attack damage by 40 percent, but will decrease Charged Attack damage by ten percent. This may be an issue, but depending on how you intend to use Childe, you may be able to use this to your advantage since he naturally has a speed-damage incongruence.

8/13 The Prototype Crescent – Four Stars

The Prototype Crescent is forged at the blacksmith’s shop, making it one of the easier weapons to obtain. The Base Attack boost runs from 42 to 510, and the secondary stat of Attack is the same as the Rust — nine to 41.3 percent, both depending on Childe’s level.

Any Charged Attacks that hit on an enemy’s weak spot will increase Movement Speed by ten percent, and Attack by 36 percent for up to ten seconds.

7/13 The Hamayumi – Four Stars

You can also forge this bow yourself at the blacksmith’s shop. The Hamayumi will increase Childe’s Base Attack ranging from 41 to 454, and its substat gives a 12 to 55.1 percent boost to his Attack. Though the perks are underwhelming compared to other options, the ease of access makes it a solid weapon for Childe, as well as strengthening his overall Attack.

This will also increase his Normal Attack by 16 percent, and his Charged Attack damage by 12 percent. Whenever his Energy is at 100 percent, these effects will have a 100 percent effectiveness.

6/13 The Favonius Warbow – Four Stars

There are two possible ways to obtain the Favonius Warbow; either through Wishes, or after completing A Long Shot Quest. Regardless of how you get it, once you give it to Childe, it will increase his Base Attack by 41 to 454, depending on his level. The secondary stat, Energy Recharge, will give him a 13.3 to 61.3 percent boost to his Energy.

Crit hits with the Favonius Warbow have a 60 percent chance of creating Elemental Particles that can be used to create six Energy once every 12 seconds. This is helpful when you are alternating between your team members.

5/13 The Blackcliff Warbow – Four Stars

You’ll have to go through Paimon’s Bargains to get the Blackcliff Warbow for Childe. The Base Attack increase runs from 44 to 565, depending on his level, and the substat of Crit damage gives a boost between eight and 36.8 percent.

Once you’ve eliminated a target, Childe’s Attack is increased by 12 percent for up to 30 seconds. This can be stacked a maximum of three times, and each stack is independent of the others, so you can stack more as they wear off.

4/13 *The Amos' Bow - Five Stars

Available in the Wishes tab, Amos' Bow will boost Base Attack between 46 and 608, depending on Childe's level in the game. It has a substat of Attack which gives him an extra 10.8 to 49.6 percent to this stat.

This bow increases the Normal and Charged Attack damage by 12 percent, and anytime either is used in battle, the damage goes up another eight percent for every 0.1 second the bow is in the air. You'll be able to stack this effect up to five times to maximize the benefits for Childe.

3/13 The Skyward Harp – Five Stars

You can snag the Skyward Harp through regular Wishes. When equipped with this, Childe’s Base Attack will go up based on his level between 48 and 674. His Crit Rate will benefit from its substat, ranging from 4.8 to 22.1 percent.

Childe’s Crit damage increases by 20 percent with the Skyward Harp, and all of his hits will have a 60 percent chance to extend to a small AoE. More importantly, for four seconds his physical attack damage will go up by 125 percent, making him incredibly powerful.

2/13 The Thundering Pulse – Five Stars

Obtainable through Weapon Event Wishes at a slightly harder rate due to its higher rank, the Thundering Pulse boosts Base Attack between 46 and 608. The substat is Crit damage, which will increase in a range from 14.4 to 66.2 percent, depending on Childe’s level.

The Thundering Pulse will increase his Attack by 20 percent, and grant him the Might of the Thunder Emblem, which will boost his Normal Attack damage based on his stack levels. Every stack of the Thunder Emblem is entirely independent of the others.

1/13 The Polar Star – Five Stars

You’ll have to pull for the Polar Star in Weapon Event Wishes, but once you get it, you’ll enjoy its benefits with Childe. Boosting his Base Attack between 46 and 608, depending on his level, as well as increasing his Crit Rate from 7.2 to 33.1 percent with its secondary stat, the Polar Star is a top-tier weapon.

Childe’s Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst damage will also increase this by 12 percent. After he’s used a Normal or a Charged Attack, or his Elemental Skill or Burst, he’ll get one stack of Ashen Night Star for 12 seconds, and each stack is independent of the rest.
