Most Genshin Impact players know Tartaglia as Childe, one of the Fatui Harbingers. Unlike many other bosses, though, Tartaglia can actually be recruited during special events. The Farewell of Snezhnaya Event Wish occurs roughly twice a year, allowing players to gain this mighty Hydro wielder as a party member.

Where To Find Tartaglia's Ascension Materials

Starconch

Starconch shells are required in large quantities to fully Ascend Tartaglia. While you can buy a handful of Starconches now and then from Bolai in Liyue Harbor, getting the sheer numbers you'll need will take lots of searching for them in the wild. Look along the shore throughout the Liyue Region, particularly in Guyun Stone Forest and Yaoguang Shoal. Be sure to pick up every Starconch you see - you'll need them.

Insignias

The Insignias required to Ascend Tartaglia are dropped by Fatui enemies - specifically Fatui Cicin Mages, Fatui Pyro Agents, and Fatui Skirmishers. The rank of the dropped Insignias depends on the level of the defeated enemy. You can also use Alchemy to combine lower-rank Insignias into higher-rank Insignias.

Fatui enemies can be found all over the world, particularly in Liyue and Inazuma. Regardless of which element the Fatui you're facing wield, remember that all Fatui enemies are vulnerable to Physical damage.

Cleansing Heart

Cleansing Hearts are only dropped by Rhodeia of Loch, a boss found east of Qingce Village. The encounter with Rhodeia is more of a horde battle than a boss fight - she summons groups of Hyrdro Mimics to attack the party and is defeated when enough of her minions are destroyed.

While Rhodeia and her minions are Hydro-elemental enemies, the Mimics have a variety of differing weaknesses that you'll need to exploit at the right moment. Ideally, your party will be capable of dealing Pyro, Cryo, Electro, and Geo damage when you face Rhodeia.

As with any repeatable boss fight, always make sure you enter the battle with 40 Original Resin stored up. You'll need this resource to claim your loot at the end of the fight.

Varunada Lazurite

Varunada Lazurite is a required Ascension Material for all Hydro characters, including Tartaglia. It's available from multiple sources, including Commission rewards and jewelry shops in Liyue Harbor and Mondstadt, but the best way to farm it is by repeatedly fighting the correct bosses. Rhodeia of Loch, the boss that drops Cleansing Hearts, also drops Varunada Lazurite, making her an ideal target when grinding for Tartaglia's materials. The Hydro Hypostasis and Primo Geovishap also drop pieces of Varunada Lazurite, so if you find yourself in their domains you may as well go after them if you've got Original Resin to spare.

Varunada Lazurite can also be created through Alchemy, either by converting it from another gem type with Dust of Azoth or by combining smaller pieces into larger ones.
