The seventh week of Destiny 2's Season of the Plunder comes with a new set of Seasonal Challenges. This week contains some of the toughest challenges yet, including Glory match completions and a GM Nightfall clear. To compensate for this, some challenges grant 100,000 XP and 300 Bright Dust on completion, the highest rewards available.

For more casual players, most of this week's challenges are much easier to complete, requiring weapon final blows or crafted weapon leveling. This guide will cover all seven challenges this week, their rewards, and how best to complete them. Use the table of contents above to jump to any particular Seasonal Challenge you're interested in.

Antiquarian VII

Antiquarian VII: Return the seventh relic to the H.E.L.M. Also, defeat powerful Vex throughout the system. Defeating more powerful combatants will award bonus progress.

Rewards

  • Repute
  • 25,000 XP

Complete the seventh part of this season's quest and return its respective relic to the H.E.L.M. Once that's done, you'll need to defeat Vex majors and bosses. The API lists 150 kills as the requirement, but it's likely much lower than that.

For quick Vex kills, we suggest booting up a Vex Nightfall on a higher difficulty setting. Champions should grant a massive boost to your progress. Alternatively, you can boot up the intro to the Vault of Glass raid and farm the Vex Cyclops and Minotaur enemies that spawn.

Efficient Expedition

Efficient Expedition: Complete Expedition in each destination in under 10 minutes.

Reward

  • 50,000 XP

This challenge is retroactive.

Expedition has three destinations: Nessus, Cosmodrome, and Europa. The planet you get upon booting up the playlist is random, so we recommend repeatedly launching the activity until you get a destination you need. Complete the Expedition per usual, and you should be able to complete it in under ten minutes. If you're struggling to speedrun these missions, get a fireteam together and bring good Heavy weapons for the final boss. Rocket Launchers and Linear Fusion Rifles are best for this.

Shaper II

Shaper II: Level Seasonal Shaped weapons to Level 10.

Rewards

  • Repute
  • 25,000 XP

You'll need to level three crafted seasonal weapons to level ten for this challenge. Only Season of the Plunder weapons count for this challenge—King's Fall and world pool guns do not count—although Bungie did fortunately change one of the Star Chart's upgrades to give a guaranteed Deepsight each week.

You can craft three copies of the same weapon to finish this challenge, which is what we recommend you do. Craft a particular weapon, farm Shuro Chi or Vanguard Ops, and repeat once the gun hits level ten. You'll need to level three Season of the Plunder Ketchcrash/Expedition weapons this way to finish Shaper II.

Underhanded

Underhanded: Defeat targets with Sidearms and defeat jolted combatants. Defeating combatants in Ketchcrash and defeating Guardians will award bonus progress.

Reward

  • 25,000 XP

Underhanded requires you to defeat 200 enemies with Sidearms and 100 enemies that are Jolted, one of Arc 3.0 keywords. Sidearm kills should be easy to achieve. If you don't own any good Sidearms, Traveler's Chosen and Trespasser are solid options.

For the Jolted kills, use any Arc weapons with the Voltshot perk. If you don't own any, we recommend using an Arc subclass and speccing for either your melee (Hunter) or grenade (Warlock and Titan). Arc abilities serve as your best source of Jolt.

Closing In

Closing In: Defeat targets with Machine Guns, Sniper Rifles, and Swords in Gambit. Defeating Guardians will award bonus progress.

Rewards

  • 50,000 XP
  • 150 Bright Dust

While in the Gambit playlist, you'll need to complete the following:

  • Defeat 60 targets with Machine Guns.
  • Defeat 60 targets with Sniper Rifles.
  • Defeat 30 targets with Swords.

Guardians count as multiple kills. For Machine Guns, we recommend either Thunderlord (for PvE players) or Xenophage (if you're invading). Sniper Rifles of any variety will work here so pick your favorite. For Swords, we highly recommend using The Lament to give yourself a good DPS weapon for the Primeval phase. If you don't own Beyond Light, any Legendary Sword will do.

Be sure to grab the Heavy brick after clearing a Gambit wave to easily complete the Machine Gun and Sword kill requirements.

Fleeting Glory

Fleeting Glory: Complete Crucible matches in the Glory Rank playlist. Earn bonus progress for wins.

Rewards

  • 100,000
  • 300 Bright Dust

The Glory Rank playlist refers to Survival, located on the bottom row of the Crucible menu. Survival is a 3v3 mode with limited lives and a rigorous version of SBMM enabled. For this challenge, you'll need to complete 15 games in this playlist, fewer if you can win.

Destiny 2's current PvP sandbox highly values healing, overshields, and mid-range dueling. For a smoother experience, here's what we recommend:

  • Play Solar or Void: Solar has ample healing and the powerful Radiant keyword. Void has easy access to overshields or invisibility.
    • Both subclasses make it harder for your enemies to kill you.
  • Use Pulse Rifles: No Time to Explain, BxR Battler, and Vigilance Wing are fantastic for mid-range dueling.
  • Play with your team: Splitting off from your team is a death sentence in competitive modes. Play together, even if you're in the Freelance playlist.
  • Use your radar: Your radar is the strongest tool you have. Always glance at it to get an idea of your enemy's position.

Stick to the playlist, use loadouts you find fun, don't take it too seriously, and take frequent breaks. You have all season to complete this, so don't feel pressured to get all Glory matches completed in one sitting.

Grandmaster

Grandmaster: Complete any Nightfall strike on Grandmaster.

Rewards

  • 100,000
  • 300 Bright Dust

A GM Nightfall is the hardest strike category in Destiny 2, locking your character 25 Power under the enemy. This season's GMs require you to achieve 1,595 Power Level, obtainable by reaching the Pinnacle Gear cap and a +15 Artifact. Get a fireteam together, spec for 100 Resilience, and play cautiously. You only need to complete the GM to finish the challenge, no Platinum rating required. Good luck.
