The Stone Vigil is a level 41 dungeon in Final Fantasy 14. In this dungeon, you will battle through a dilapidated Ishgardian watchtower, in search of Cid's lost airship, the Enterprise. This flying boat is the key to reaching the Primal Garuda, but you'll need to fight through the hordes of dragons that have taken over the Stone Vigil since the events of the Calamity to get it.

This dungeon is filled with dangerous dragons and other monsters. Whether you challenge this dungeon with other players or the Duty Support system, you'll need to prepare. How To Unlock The Stone Vigil

The Stone Vigil is unlocked by progressing in the following quest.

    • NPC Location: Alphinaud - Coerthas Central Highlands (X:12.7, Y:16.5)

Dungeon Walkthrough

As you make your way through the first section of this dungeon, you will be periodically ambushed by the second boss, Koshchei, who will breathe fire in the area, dealing damage. Keep this in mind when pulling groups of enemies together, as the fire can put unnecessary strain on your Healer.

Similarly, in the section of the Stone Vigil after the first boss, Ice Sprites will appear in windy areas. These enemies deal high damage, so remain cautious.

Chudo-Yudo

The first boss of the Stone Vigil is Chudo-Yudo. This boss has some simple but powerful attacks, detailed below.

  • Lion's Breath: Chudo-Yudo will attack in a cone AoE to its front, dealing high damage and inflicting the Burns debuff, which deals damage over time. The Tank should face the boss away from the rest of the party, and the Healer should use Esuna to clear the Burns if the damage becomes too much to handle.
  • Swinge: Chudo-Yudo will move to one side of the arena before unleashing a large, high damage, untelegraphed AoE attack. Quickly move to the boss and hide behind it to avoid taking damage from this attack.
    • Later in the fight, Chudo-Yudo will use Swinge twice in a row. Be sure to watch carefully for a second Swinge, and only move from behind the boss when the coast is clear.

Chudo-Yudo will repeat these attacks until it is defeated. This boss's mechanics aren't too complicated, but can deal very high damage if you aren't careful.

Koshchei

The second boss of the Stone Vigil is Koshchei, who will use the following attacks and mechanics.

  • Spiked Tail: Koshchei will deal high damage in a small AoE to the Tank. Use defensive cooldowns to mitigate this damage, and move away from the rest of the party to avoid hitting them.
  • Sonic Storm: Koshchei will target a random player with a large circular AoE. Move outside the AoE indicator to avoid taking damage from Sonic Storm.
  • Typhoon: Koshchei will move to the center of the arena before creating tornados along the back wall. After a short delay, the tornados will begin moving to the other side of the arena, dealing damage and knocking hit players into the air.
    • To avoid this attack, watch for the tornado that doesn't start moving with the others. Then, slip behind the first tornado and stay out of the path of the next ones.

Koshchei will repeat these attacks until it is defeated. Watch carefully during Typhoon to correctly dodge the moving tornados, as these can deal high damage if you are hit by multiple of them.

Isgebind

The final boss of the Stone Vigil is Isgebind. Throughout the fight, Isgebind will fly into the sky before using Cauterize to deal damage and inflict Frostbite to certain sections of the arena. Watch carefully for the AoE indicators to avoid getting hit by these attacks.

  • Rime Wreath: Isgebind will deal damage in a circular area around itself. This attack has no AoE indicator, so ranged players should stay at a distance from the boss throughout the fight.
  • Frost Breath: Isgebind will deal damage in a wide cone shape to its front. Like Rime Wreath, this attack has no AoE indicator. To avoid Frost Breath, the Tank should face the boss away from the rest of the party to reduce the chances of them getting hit.
  • Sheet of Ice: Isgebind will target players with a small AoE circle that deals damage. Move out of the AoE indicator to avoid getting hit.
    • Later in the fight, Isgebind will use this attack while in the air. Spread out during this part to avoid overlapping this attack with other players.

Isgebind will repeat these attacks until it is defeated. Watch carefully when Isgebind flies away, and you'll be able to take down this boss. Roll for your loot, and you'll finally be able to recover the Enterprise.
