Players explore the Churning Mists at a pivotal point in Final Fantasy 14's story, deep within the Heavensward expansion during what feels like a surreal adventure among friends. Moogles have inherited this floating land, and many of the zone's quests involve seeking out the fluffy pals and aiding them in their fluff-filled misadventures.
Unlocking the ability to fly in the Churning Mists necessitates finding all four aether currents in the field as well as completing five quests — one from the main scenario and four through side quests. Importantly, Endwalker's launch has reduced the number of field currents from what had originally been ten, sparing newcomers the full gauntlet that veterans will no doubt recall.
