Dungeon Walkthrough

This dungeon is pretty straightforward, but there are a few enemies you should watch out for. In the first section before the first boss, you will be ambushed by Stronghold Mylodons. The Tank should be sure to gain Enmity on this enemy as quickly as possible, as its AoE attacks can deal high damage.

Be careful as you make your way through the dungeon, as you will be ambushed again numerous times by various enemies. As always, group up and burn down as many trash mobs as the Tank and Healer are capable of pulling at one time.

Towering Oliphant

The first boss of the Dusk Vigil is the Towering Oliphant. This beast will use the following attacks and mechanics.

  • Rear: A large point-blank AoE centered on the boss. Move away to avoid taking damage.
  • Prehistoric Trumpet: Deals damage to all party members. Recover with AoE heals.
  • Rock of Ages: The Towering Oliphant will target a random player and stun them before beginning a series of large AoE attacks. These attacks will target the stunned player, making avoiding them impossible. Instead, the Healer should be prepared to restore the targeted player's health through these attacks.
    • Wooly Inspiration: Pulls in players in a large frontal cone and deals light damage.
    • Tusk Butt: Launches the player in the air, dealing damage and knocking them back slightly.
    • Rout: Charges towards the stunned player, dealing damage.

The Towering Oliphant will repeat these attacks with increased frequency until it is defeated. Watch out for its large AoE attacks and heal through the unavoidable ones, and this boss won't give you much trouble.

Ser Yuhelmeric

The second boss of the Dusk Vigil is Ser Yuhelmeric. This frozen-zombie-knight will use the following attacks and mechanics.

  • Brain Drain: Deals damage to all party members and revives Frozen Knights around the arena. These enemies will use AoEs of various sizes, and should be picked up by the Tank and burned down by the DPS players.
    • Later in the fight, Ser Yuhelmeric will use this attack multiple times in a row, summoning numerous adds at once. Be sure to group them all up to limit the amount of damage other party members take.
  • Death Spiral: A large ring-shaped AoE that covers the majority of the arena. Stay close to the boss to avoid taking damage.
  • Tumulus: A medium-sized point-blank AoE centered on the boss. Move outside the AoE indicator to avoid.

Ser Yuhelmeric will repeat these attacks with increased frequency as the fight continues. Watch for the Frozen Knight adds that will periodically join the fight as you heal through each of the boss's attacks.

Opinicus

The final boss of the Dusk Vigil is Opinicus. You may notice piles of rubble scattered around the arena; you'll need to use these for an attack later in the fight. Opinicus's attacks and mechanics are datailed below.

  • Alpine Draft: Turns towards a random player and begins casting a large line AoE in their direction. Move out of the AoE indicator to avoid taking damage.
  • Freefall: Targets a random player before leaping into the air and landing on them, dealing damage in the area. The targeted player should hide behind a pile of rubble to reduce damage, while the Healer prepares to restore their health.
  • Whirling Gaol: Opinicus will summon a large tornado in the center of the arena that will pull in players, dealing damage and inflicting vulnerability up debuffs. To avoid these, hide behind a pile of rubble for the duration of the attack. As long as there is rubble between you and the tornado, you won't be sucked in.
  • Winds of Winter: Deals damage to all players and inflicts wind vulnerability up. To avoid this attack, hide behind a pile of rubble. Additionally, this attack will completely destroy all rubble piles before summoning new ones in different locations, so keep in mind where the new rubbles land to avoid subsequent attacks.

Opinicus will repeat these attacks until it is defeated. Utilize the rubble piles and you'll be able to make it through this fight will little trouble.
