Dungeon Walkthrough

In the first section of this dungeon, you will encounter Malboro Terra enemies that will use Offal Breath. Similar to Bad Breath used by other Morbol enemies, this attack will deal high damage in a circle shaped AoE and inflict every status effect on players that are hit. Prioritize moving out of the Offal Breath AoE over all else, otherwise the Healer will need to spend some time chain-casting Esuna.

After the first boss, you will encounter various Wasp enemies. These will use Stinger attacks that can deal extremely high damage. Be sure to focus on defeating the Wasps when they appear to avoid dying to their Sting.

Additionally, your progress in this section of the dungeon will periodically be blocked by Honeycomb Walls. As you destroy these, more Wasps will spawn nearby. Be sure to pick these enemies up and use AoE attacks as you destroy the Walls and progress further.

Rose Garden

The first boss of Saint Mocianne's Arboretum is the Rose Garden. This massive Morbol will use the following attacks and mechanics throughout the fight.

  • Vine Probe: Deals high damage to the Tank. Use defensive cooldowns as necessary to mitigate this damage.
  • Extremely Bad Breath: Rose Garden will summon untargetable Morbol adds around the arena after moving to the center of the arena. These adds will begin charging a breath attack that deals damage to their front while inflicting Poison. At the same time, Rose Garden will begin casting Extremely Bad Breath, a large frontal cone breath attack that deals damage and inflicts Slow, Paralysis, and Poison. After a moment, the boss will start turning to its left or right while continuing the attack.
    • To avoid this combination of attacks, stay close behind the boss to avoid Extremely Bad Breath. Then, as you move around the arena to avoid the boss as it turns, watch carefully to avoid the Morbol adds as well.
  • Rose Hip Adds: Rose Hips will spawn around the arena and attack players at random. Then, after a while, they will explode with Explosive Dehiscence, dealing damage to all party members. Destroy the Rose Hips before this happens to avoid excess damage.
  • Burr Fester: Deals damage to all players. Recover with AoE heals.

The Rose Garden will repeat these attacks until it is defeated. As the fight progresses, more Morbol and Rose Hip adds will be summoned. Move carefully during Extremely Bad Breath to avoid all the AoE attacks, and be sure to destroy the Rose Hips as quickly as possible. Additionally, keep in mind that the status effects inflicted by the boss in this fight can be cleared with Esuna. Be sure to clear troublesome effects like Paralysis and Poison with Esuna as needed.

Queen Hawk

The second boss of this dungeon is the Queen Hawk. This boss will use the following attacks and mechanics.

  • Stinger Cell: Deals damage in a short line AoE in the direction of the Tank. Use defensive cooldowns as necessary.
  • Apitoxin: Targets random players with AoE Poison puddles. These will remain on the field for a while, and should be avoided as you move around the arena.
  • Pheromone Leak: Deals damage to all party members. The Healer should restore the party's health using AoE heals.
  • Wasp Adds: Throughout the fight, Queen Hawk will summon Wasp adds around the edge of the arena, which will be used for the following attacks.
    • Assail: The Wasps will slowly move around the edge of the arena, periodically firing line AoEs at random players. Move out of the AoE indicators to avoid taking damage.
    • Avail: The Wasps will move into the arena and tether to the boss, making her invulnerable. While tethered, Queen Hawk will continuously cast Pheromone Leak. To end this phase destroy all the Wasps that are tethered to the boss. Afterwards, Queen Hawk will summon more Wasp adds around the edge of the arena.
    • Ally: The Wasps will move into groups of four, preparing to fire large line AoEs down the arena. Watch the position of the Wasps and move accordingly to avoid getting hit.

Queen Hawk will repeat these attacks until she is defeated. As the fight progresses, more Wasp adds will be summoned, meaning more AoEs for you and your party to dodge. Watch the edges of the arena carefully as you battle Queen Hawk.

Belladonna

The final boss of Saint Mocianne's Arboretum is Belladonna, whose attacks and mechanics are detailed below.

  • Deracinator: Deals high damage to the Tank. Use defensive abilities to reduce this damage as necessary.
  • Atropine Spore: Deals damage in a large ring-shaped AoE, with the safe area being in melee range of the boss. Move close to Belladonna to avoid this attack.
  • Soul Vacuum: Deals damage to all party members. Recover with AoE heals as necessary.
  • Bulb Adds: Belladonna will summon Bulbs that move to random spots around the arena. These adds will periodically cast circle AoE attacks around themselves, dealing damage and inflicting magic vulnerability up. Avoid moving near the Bulbs as you dodge the boss's other attacks.
  • Frond Fatale: Belladonna will begin casting a gaze attack that will force hit players to move towards the nearest Bulb. To avoid this, turn away from the boss when the glowing red eye appears.
  • Petal Shower: Targets random players with an AoE marker. Spread out to avoid overlapping these with other players.
  • Lily Adds: Belladonna will summon Lily adds around the arena that will begin casting Decay. If they are allowed to finish casting this attack, Decay will deal high damage to all players and inflict magic vulnerability up. To avoid this, destroy the Lilies before they finish casting Decay.

Belladonna will repeat these attacks until it is defeated. Later in the fight, more Bulb adds will be summoned at once, further reducing the safe areas of the arena. Keep in mind that the Bulbs only use their AoE attacks periodically; you can walk through the persistent AoE indicator without being hit. Use this to move around the arena to get to the Lily adds or avoid Petal Shower.

After Belladonna is down, Saint Mocianne's Arboretum will be complete.
