Ravana has a lot of high damage attacks you'll need to watch out for. Let's take an in-depth look at this Trial and outline exactly how to beat Ravana in Thok ast Thok (Hard).

How To Unlock Thok Ast Thok (Hard)

This Trial will unlock through the main story with the following quest.

  • Accept the Main Scenario Quest 'Lord of the Hive'
    • NPC Location: Ysayle - The Dravanian Forelands (x:30.4, y:37.1)

Trial Walkthrough

Thok ast Thok will begin in a circular arena with broken-looking fences around the edges. For now, these will protect you from falling off the edge.

Additionally, you will notice a Bloodlust gauge on the left of your screen that fills up over time. Every time the Bloodlust gauge reaches 100, Ravana will gain a stacking damage buff, acting as a soft enrage. However, this can be largely ignored, as the damage buff is negligible when compared to mechanics later in the fight.

Phase 1

As the fight begins, Ravana will cast either The Seeing Wing or The Seeing Tail, granting him a buff that will parry attacks from his sides (Seeing Wing), or back and front (Seeing Tail).

After this buff ends, Ravana will quickly cast Prelude to Slaughter, beginning a series of high damage attacks unleashed quickly one after another. He will cast this attack for a few moments, giving you a chance to prepare for the following.

  • Prelude to Slaughter
    • When Prelude to Slaughter finishes casting, Ravana will quickly deal damage in a small circle surrounding himself. Stand back to avoid taking damage from this attack.
    • After this attack, a series of line AoEs will appear throughout the arena. Find the safe area and move accordingly.
    • Immediately after the line AoEs, the entire arena will be covered in a donut-shaped AoE, leaving a safe circle in the center of the arena. Quickly move there to avoid this attack.
  • Slaughter
    • Ravana will begin casting Slaughter soon after Prelude to Slaughter finishes, so prepare to do the following.
    • When Slaughter finishes casting, Ravana will deal damage to his front and both sides. Avoid by standing far away or behind him.
    • Next, Ravana will create a cross AoE and mark two players. The marked players will have a circle AoE on them that will explode after a few seconds.
    • The cross AoE will explode first, giving time for everyone to spread away from the marked players. Additionally, be sure that the marked players do not overlap their AoEs.

Phase 2

At roughly 60 percent health, Ravana will begin summoning butterfly adds. These must be killed as soon as possible. If left alive, they will cast Falling Laughter, which will summon a sword onto the arena. You will need to look out for Spirit Ghanas and Moon Ghanas. Both of these enemies act similarly, but Moon Ghanas have more health and should be focused first.

After a few moments, Ravana will begin casting Bloody Fuller, lifting all players and any summoned swords into the air. For each summoned sword, Ravana will perform an additional attack, inflicting vulnerability on all players. Then, he will deal massive damage to all players. Killing the Ghanas as quickly as possible is essential, otherwise, you risk wiping to this attack.

Additionally, after Bloody Fuller, certain areas of the fencing will be entirely removed, creating spots for you to fall off the arena. Later, Ravana will use knockback attacks that can push you off if you're not careful.

Phase 3

After Bloody Fuller, the fight will enter its third phase. Near the beginning of this phase, Ravana will use Pillars of Heaven, knocking back and damaging all players. If you are positioned in front of one of the gaps in the fence, you will be pushed off the arena and instantly killed. Be sure to have your back to the wall when Ravana casts Pillars of Heaven.

After the first use of Pillars of Heaven, Ravana will begin to target the player with the second-highest enmity. This should be the off-Tank, who should prepare to be hit with a series of attacks.

At the same time, three Rose Orbs will spawn around the arena and tether themselves to three random players. The tethered players should run away from the Orbs until they stop moving. After a short delay, the Orb will explode, dealing damage in a small area. All players should avoid standing near the Orbs as they stop moving.

Ravana will repeat this process a second time, then begin casting the final 'Slaughter' attack, Swift Slaughter.

  • Swift Slaughter
    • Like before, this attack will have you navigating a few different mechanics that occur quickly.
    • First, Ravana will mark four random players with a number of swords. Players will have either one, two, three, or four swords hovering above their heads. Then, after a short delay, Ravana will attack those players according to the number of swords they have. For example, the player with one sword will be struck first, then the player with two swords, and so on. Ravana will use this attack from the center of the arena, and the actual attack will deal damage in a line between the center of the arena and the affected player. Have the marked players spread out to avoid being hit by this attack multiple times.
    • Immediately afterward, a donut AoE similar to the one from Prelude to Slaughter will appear. Move to the center of the arena to avoid.
    • Then, Ravana will create a large circle AoE in the center of the arena. This attack will knock back any hit players, so if you are going to be hit by it, make sure there is a wall to your back. Ideally, you should move near the edge of the arena to avoid this attack.

After Swift Slaughter completes, Ravana will repeat previous mechanics until he is defeated. This fight is complex but mainly involves dodging AoEs and knowing when to move. Continue on as you've learned and you'll be able to defeat Ravana and clear this Trial.
