Final Fantasy 14 offers a lot of optional content for players to take part in, adding additional storylines with quests, extra rewards to be earned, and more fun to be had. One type of quest available in the game is Custom Deliveries.
Final Fantasy 14's patch 5.5 introduced a new character for Custom Deliveries — Charlemend De Durandaire. Quite a few quests go into unlocking this NPC for Custom Deliveries, so let's take a look at exactly which quests you'll have to complete.
What are Custom Deliveries?
Custom Deliveries are weekly quests that you can undertake as Disciples of the Hand or Land. Essentially, they are crafting and gathering specific tasks that will ask you to deliver specific items for a reward of experience, gil, and Scrips. Doing these every week is a major source of White and Yellow Scrips, which are important for buying materials for high-level crafts.
The items you deliver as Custom Deliveries will be Collectible items. In this special form of crafting and gathering, you will have to increase the item's collectibility. Overall, the higher an item's collectibility, the higher the rewards you will receive for turning it in.
When delivering items as a Disciple of the Hand, you will craft unique items that are only used for Custom Deliveries. You can find a list of what items each NPC will ask for in the recipes menu.
Disciples of the Land will have to first head to the item's location, which can be checked on the delivery menu.
Each week, Custom Delivery NPCs will change which item they ask to be delivered. If you open the timers menu and select Custom Deliveries, you can see a detailed list of each NPC you have unlocked, what items they are requesting that week, and the rewards you will receive. Higher collectibility-rated items will grant more Scrips and experience, so always try to increase collectibility as much as possible.
You are able to make a total of twelve deliveries every week, with a maximum of six deliveries to each NPC. This means you will have to choose two different NPCs at most to deliver to. Usually, the most recently released NPC will offer the best rewards, with another NPC offering the second-best rewards. Which NPC is second-best will rotate on a weekly basis.

Unlocking The Firmament
Before you can unlock Count Charlemend for Custom Deliveries, you will first need to have access to the Firmament. Despite being released in patch 5.1, this area can be accessed as soon as level 60.
First, you will have to complete the main scenario quests up until the quest 'Litany of Peace'. This will unlock the Ishgardian Restoration Main Quest 'Towards the Firmament'. You can find this quest in Foundation, from the Recruitment Notice at (X:9.7, Y:11.5).
Following this questline will take you through the story of the development of the Firmament. There are quite a few additional side quests that you can complete, so be sure to come back to them later to unlock the other features of the Firmament.
The final quest in this questline is 'Smiles Cross the Sky'. After completing this quest, you will be able to start the questline to unlock Charlemend's Custom Deliveries.
Unlocking Charlemend Custom Deliveries
Complete the Quest 'The Brume Lifts'

- Lv. 60
- Complete 'May Featherfall Flourish'
- NPC Location: Charlemend De Durendaire - The Firmament, Foundation (X:10.4, Y:12.4)
To start this quest, you will first have to complete 'May Featherfall Flourish', which is one of the main quests from the 'Towards the Firmament' questline. Completing it will unlock a few sidequests, one of which is 'The Brume Lifts'.
To finish this quest, simply deliver the document to Sestivald, then speak with him. Doing so will unlock the quest 'You Can Count On It'.

- 10 Magicked Prism (House Fortemps)
- 10 Magicked Prism (House Durendaire)
Complete the Quest 'You Can Count On It'
- Pre-requisites:
- Lv. 70 Disciple of the Land or Hand
- Complete 'Smiles Cross the Sky'
- NPC Location: Francel - The Firmament, Foundation (X:11, Y:14.5)
To begin this quest, first, speak with Francel near where you enter the Firmament. He will send you to find a suspiciously familiar man, who turns out to be Charlemend. Then, speak with Maurilette. After that, speak with Maelie twice, and the quest will be complete.
Completing this quest will unlock Charlemend for Custom Deliveries. However, to update the deliveries list, you will have to complete the next quest, 'Those Who Serve'.

Complete the Quest 'Those Who Serve'
- Pre-requisites:
- Lv. 70 Disciple of the Land or Hand
- Complete 'You Can Count On It'
- NPC Location: Maurilette - The Firmament, Foundation (x:8.9, y:8.4)
This quest will update the deliveries list for Charlemend, allowing you to deliver further items to him. First, accept the quest from Mauriellete. After speaking with her and watching the cutscene, find Maelie. Return to Charlemend, and the quest will be complete.
