The Sirensong Sea is a level 61 dungeon in Final Fantasy 14: Stormblood. The Sirensong Sea is the first new dungeon made available with patch 4.0 and the release of the Stormblood Expansion. While traveling to the Far East, your ship is mysteriously dragged off course. You'll need to investigate the cause of this delay and get back on track to Doma.

This dungeon is pretty straightforward when compared to some of the final encounters of Heavensward, but some of the new boss's mechanics can trip you up if you're not careful. Let's take a look at each of the Sirensong Sea's bosses, their attacks and mechanics, and how to beat them.

How To Unlock The Sirensong Sea

This dungeon is unlocked through the following main story quest.

  • Accept the Main Scenario Quest 'Not without Incident'
    • NPC Location: Lyse - Mor Dhona (X:22.2, Y:8.5)

Dungeon Walkthrough

You'll begin this dungeon on the boat. Move to the deck and fight a few waves of Banshees before departing the boat and moving further into the dungeon, towards the first boss.

Later in the dungeon, immediately before the final boss, you will face the mini-boss Fleshless Captive. This enemy will use Seductive Scream, followed by Flood to pull in all party members before dealing high AoE damage. Use stuns or silence Seductive Scream to avoid this combo.

Lugat

The first boss of the Sirensong Sea is Lugat, whose attacks and mechanics are listed below.

  • Amorphous Applause: Targets a random player and begins casting a large AoE in their direction. This AoE will cover the half of the arena the boss is facing towards, so quickly move behind Lugat to avoid.
  • Hydroball: Targets a random player with a stack marker. Group up on the affected player to split the damage of this attack.
  • Sea Swallows All: Lugat will suck in all player to the center of the arena before using its next attack, Concussive Oscillation.
    • Concussive Oscillation: Places five AoEs around the arena in a set pattern. After being drawn into the center of the arena, quickly move to a safe spot between the AoEs.
  • Overtow: Knocks all players away from the boss. This attack is immediately followed by Hydroball, so quickly run to the center of the arena to group up with your party.

Lugat will repeat these attacks until it is defeated. Be sure to stack up during Hydroball to spread out the damage between all party members.

The Governor

The second boss of this dungeon is the Governor. This boss will utilize a stacking Magic Vulnerability Up debuff throughout the fight that should be avoided. The Governor's attacks and mechanics are detailed below.

  • Shadowflow: The Governer will sink into the ground in the center of the arena and spread shadowy areas around the arena. Entering one of these will apply the Magic Vulnerability debuff and deal damage every few seconds. Avoid moving into the shadows for the duration of this attack.
  • Bloodburst: Deals damage to all party members. Recover with AoE heals.
  • Enter Night: The Governer will pull a random player to the center of the arena and place a shadowy tether on them. This will deal damage over time and apply the Magic Vulnerability debuff. Run away from the boss to break the tether.
  • Shadowsplit: The boss will use this attack during Shadowflow. The Governor will create shadow clones of itself that will spread out around the arena, further reducing the number of safe areas. Move accordingly to avoid stepping in the shadows and getting debuffed.

The Governor will repeat these attacks until it is defeated. Stay out of the Shadowflow areas and you'll make it through this fight.

Lorelei

The final boss of this dungeon is Lorelei. This boss's main mechanic is Virgin Tears, which she will use in conjunction with various other attacks throughout the fight. Lorelei's attacks and mechanics are listed below.

  • Headbutt: Deals high damage to the Tank. Use defensive cooldowns to mitigate.
  • Virgin Tears: Creates large AoE puddles around the arena that apply the Bleed debuff and deal heavy damage over time to players who step inside them. These will persist on the arena for a while.
    • As the fight progresses, more AoE puddles will appear, and the edge of the arena will also become a puddle.
  • Somber Melody: Deals damage to all party members. The Healer should quickly recover everyone's health.
  • Void Water III: Targets a random player with a large AoE puddle, similar to Virgin Tears. This will need to be avoided by running out of the AoE indicator.
  • Morbid Advance/Morbid Retreat: Forces you to walk in a straight line forward or backward, respectively. This attack will occur during Virgin Tears, so you will need to position yourself ahead of time to avoid walking into the puddles.

Lorelei will repeat these attacks until she is defeated. Be sure to watch your position during Virgin Tears and Morbid Advance/Retreat, as the puddles can deal high damage if you stay in them for too long. After defeating Lorelei, the Sirensong Sea will be complete.
