Final Fantasy 14's third expansion, Shadowbringers, has been roundly praised for its poignantly dark storytelling and thoughtfully nuanced characters. At first glance, the denizens of Il Mheg don't quite seem to fit that bill; the Pixies are bored internet trolls, really, and theirs tends to be the first tribe that springs to mind.
But the dog-like Nu Mou and avian Amaro both do well to represent the forlorn spirits of those who have been left behind, and even the Pixies are a bit more than first meets the eye. Plus, they turn people into shrubbery just for the fun of it. That's poignantly dark, right?
There's seeing the region's vivid sights on the ground and there's experiencing it all from high above the lakes and fields. To do that, you need to unlock flight, which means attuning to every aether current on the map. It's worth noting that Endwalker has reduced the total field-based currents to four.
