Castrum Lacus Litore is a dungeon that you can join through the Critical Engagement in the Bozjan Southern Front. The first boss of this dungeon has your raid split into two groups to face Brionac and the 4th Legion Helldiver. When you first enter the instance, you will form parties with other players before deciding who will go to the top path and fight Brionac, and who will stay below to fight the 4th Legion Helldiver.

Brionac Encounter Walkthrough

If you choose the upper path, you will face Brionac. Listed below are each of Brionac's attacks and mechanics.

  • Electric Anvil: Brionac will target the main Tank and deal a high amount of damage. Heal and mitigate as necessary.
  • Lightning Shower: Brionac will deal damage to all players in the arena. Use AoE heals to recover from this attack.
  • False Thunder: Brionac will begin charging its left or right claw, then deal damage in a wide cone shape to the opposite side of the arena. Move to Brionac's glowing side to avoid this attack.
  • Anti-warmachina Weaponry: Brionac will spawn a Magitek Core that must be destroyed within the time limit. If not, it will deal massive damage to the Tunnel Armor in the arena below. Focus your attacks on the Magitek Core when it spawns.
  • Voltstream: Three rectangular AoEs will spawn on alternating sides of the arena. These will appear three times in a row. Dodge each AoE by remaining close to the edge of the rectangle, then quickly move when the next set appears.
  • Energy Generation: Brionac will use this attack multiple times in a row with additive effects. The first time Energy Generation is used, two light orbs will spawn. These will deal damage in a donut, with the area immediately surrounding the orb being safe. The second time this attack is used, four dark orbs will spawn. These will create large AoE markers that must be avoided by standing in the corners of the arena.
    • After Brionac uses Energy Generation twice, they will use it in conjunction with one of the following attacks, leading to different versions of the attack.
    • With Pole Shift: Two light orbs and two dark orbs will spawn and tether to each other. After a short delay, the tethered orbs will swap places. If the light orbs are swapped to the east and west positions, there will be a safe spot directly underneath them. However, if the light orbs are swapped to the north and south positions, the safe spot will be covered by the dark orbs' AoE marker, making the actual safe spot in the corners of the arena.
    • With Magitek Magnetism: Two lights orbs and two dark orbs will spawn, then each player will be tethered to an orb and be given a magnetic charge. The orb you are tethered to will also have a magnetic charge. If both charges match, you will be pushed away from the orb. If the charges are opposite, you will be pulled towards the orb. If you are too close to the orb when you are pulled, you will take damage. Depending on which orb you are tethered to, you will need to position yourself to be either pulled or pushed into the safe spot between orbs like in the normal version of Energy Generation.
    • With Polar Magnetism: This attack combines the mechanics of Pole Shift and Magitek Magnetism. Pole Shift will first tether orbs together to swap their positions, then Magitek Magnetism will tether you to an orb that will either push or pull you. This attack is complicated, but once you get the hang of Pole Shift and Magitek Magnetism, you should be able to get make it through Polar Magnetism, too.

If Brionac is defeated before the 4th Legion Helldiver, additional enemies will continuously spawn until the lower boss is defeated. If this goes on for too long, all members of the raid will be instantly killed.

4th Legion Helldiver Walkthrough

If you stay on the bottom path, you will fight the 4th Legion Helldiver. While fighting this boss, you will also have to protect the Tunnel Armor from the boss and additional enemies' attacks, as it attempts to break through the gate to the Castrum.

The 4th Legion Helldiver will use the following attacks.

  • Magitek Missiles: Deals high damage to the main tank. Use defensive abilities and heal as necessary.
  • MRV Missile: Deals damage to all players in the arena. Heal and use shields as necessary.
  • Chain Cannon: Targets a random player and deals damage in a line towards them for the duration of the attack. Additionally, Chain Cannon will inflict Bleed if you are hit, which will deal damage over time. If you are marked by this attack, stand away from the rest of the party and the Tunnel Armor.
  • Infrared Blast: The additional enemies will create tethers between themselves and the Tunnel Armor. Similar to Lateral Dive, you will need to stand in between the enemy and the Armor in order to take the damage meant for the Armor.
  • Dive Formation: The Helldiver will summon three groups of adds that will begin charging a line AoE towards the Tunnel Armor. These must be stacked on in the order they appear to avoid damaging the Tunnel Armor. Watch where the sets of adds appear, and stack accordingly.
  • Command: Chain Cannon: This attack is the same as Chain Cannon, but it will instead be used by the adds. Similar to the base version, be sure to aim this away from other players and the Tunnel Armor.
  • Command: Lateral Dive: The Helldiver will command adds to attack the Tunnel Armor, creating six blue line AoEs that must be stacked on to protect the Tunnel Armor. Each marker only needs a few people, but be sure that there are at least 3-4 players in each line.
  • Command: Suppressive Formation: The Helldiver will summon adds along the left and right sides of the arena that will charge forward after a short delay. Look for the line that doesn't have an add and move quickly to avoid this attack.

If the 4th Legion Helldiver is defeated before Brionac, additional enemies will continuously spawn until the upper boss is dealt with. Similarly, if this goes on for too long, all party members will be instantly killed, forcing you to restart.

This enrage timer is why you will need to coordinate between the top and bottom bosses. You want to defeat both at roughly the same time, or you risk failing the entire fight. Throughout the fight, communicate the health of each boss between both parties. This will allow both sides to slow down or speed up, depending on the progress of the other boss.
