This research facility is home to some truly abominable creatures. From buff sharks to grotesque plants, there's a little something for everyone here. Let's take a look at each boss you'll find inside Akadaemia Anyder, their attacks and mechanics, and how to beat them.

How To Unlock Akadaemia Anyder

This optional dungeon is unlocked through the side quest of the same name.

  • Accept the side quest 'Akadaemia Anyder'
    • NPC Location: Overwrought Ondo - Eulmore (X:12.9, Y:12.4)

You will need to have completed the Main Scenario Quest 'Shadowbringers' before this quest will appear.

Dungeon Walkthrough

In the first part of this dungeon, large shark adds will wander the halls. Be sure to pull these before they target the Healer, as they can do high damage. As always, pull as many groups of mobs together as the Tank and Healer are able, as this will allow you to clear through them much more quickly using AoE attacks.

The rest of the dungeon is straightforward; kill the adds between each boss, and you'll be good.

Cladoselache & Doliodus

The first boss of Akadaemia Anyder is Cladoselache and Doliodus. These two enemies will swap in and out of combat, forcing you to take them on one at a time. Each boss will use a different set of attacks, which are listed below.

  • Cladoselache: The fight will begin with you facing Cladoselache, who will eventually jump into the water while Doliodus jumps onto the arena, swapping the boss you are fighting. The bosses will rotate in this fashion, and will use Tidal Guillotine and Pelagic Cleaver when they jump out of the water. Avoid these attacks while the sharks swap places.
    • Protolithic Puncture: Deals high damage to the Tank. Use defensive cooldowns to mitigate this damage.
    • Tidal Guillotine: A point-blank AoE that deals high damage in the area surrounding the boss. Move away from Cladoselache to avoid.
      • Cladoselache will use this attack when taking the field. Move away from the center of the arena when Cladoselache is about to jump onto the arena.
    • Aquatic Lance: Targets a random player with an AoE that drops a large puddle in the area when it explodes. The affected player should drop this puddle near the edge of the arena to avoid limiting the movable area.
  • Doliodus:
    • Pelagic Cleaver: A large cone-shaped AoE that knocks back hit players. Move outside the indicator to avoid.
      • Doliodus will use this attack when taking the field. Before Doliodus jumps onto the arena, run near it at the edge of the arena to avoid being hit.
    • Marine Mayhem: Deals damage to all party members. Recover with AoE healing.

This pattern will repeat until both sharks are defeated. When only one shark remains, it will grant itself a damage buff and cast Marine Mayhem multiple times in a row, dealing heavy damage to all party members. Have AoE heals ready to deal with this near the end of the fight.

Morbol Marquis

The second boss of Akadaemia Anyder is the Morbol Marquis. This fight will take place in a circular arena, with two colors of flower patches in an alternating pattern covering the floor. This will be used for an attack later, so keep these in mind. Listed below are each of the Morbol's attacks and mechanics.

  • Sap Shower: Targets players with large AoE markers. Spread out to avoid overlapping these AoEs.
  • Arbor Storm: Deals damage to all party members. Use AoE heals to recover.
  • Extensible Tendrils: The Morbol will lift its four tentacles up before slamming them down in a line, dealing damage. Move between the tentacles to avoid being hit. The boss will use this attack five times, turning slightly before each time it slams its tentacles down. Then, the boss will vomit bile directly to its front, dealing high damage. Avoid being in front of the boss after the final tentacle hit.
  • Blossom: The boss will light up one color of flower patches, which will inflict Heavy and Vulnerability to players who walk in the flowers. Then, the boss will deal damage to all party members. Players inside the glowing flowers will take more damage because of the Vulnerability debuff. Either move to the other color of flowers or to the safe ring near the center of the arena to avoid.

The Morbol Marquis will repeat these attacks until it is defeated. Watch your step as you avoid Blossom, and be sure to keep track of your position during Extensible Tendrils. After defeating the Morbol, you can move on to the final boss, Quetzalcoatl.

Quetzalcoatl

The final boss of Akadaemia Anyder is Quetzalcoatl. This lightning bird will use powerful AoE attacks, but its patterns are pretty straightforward. Listed below are each of the boss's attacks and mechanics.

  • Shockbolt: Deals high damage to the Tank. Use defensive cooldowns as necessary.
  • Thunderbolt: Deals damage to all party members.
  • Thunderstorm: Players will be targeted with a circular AoE, while similar sized AoEs appear around the arena. Spread out to avoid overlapping these. When the lightning strikes, an orb will sometimes be left on the ground. Run over this to gain a stack of damage up. If no one runs over the orb, they will eventually tether to the boss and grant it the buff instead.
  • Shocking Plumage: Four cone AoEs will emit from the boss, dealing high damage in the AoEs. Move between them to avoid.
  • Winding Current: Quetzalcoatl will fly to one edge of the arena, push all players to the opposite edge, and summon lightning AoEs around the arena. Then, the AoEs will slowly start to increase in size, covering more and more of the arena. At the same time the boss will begin casting Winding Current, an AoE that covers the entire arena except for a small area directly underneath the boss. You will need to quickly move to the boss to avoid its attack while also dodging the slowly expanding AoEs.

Quetzalcoatl will repeat these attacks until it is defeated. Be sure to grab the damage buffs when they appear and move quickly during Winding Current.
