Sub camps allow you to easily fast travel throughout the world, in addition to jumping inside a tent to replenish whatever it is that you need. When you find a decent location for a sub-camp in-game, which will be marked with a burnt-out bonfire, you’ll get a notification and you will be able to accept a side quest from the merchant when you return to Kamura Village, so you can have a fresh sub camp to visit as you explore the world.

Shrine Ruins Sub Camps

The Shrine Ruins area holds only one sub-camp, and it should be fairly simple to find. It’s atop a large rock formation on the Northern part of the map. If you ride your Palamute, or a Giant Wirebug, to the top sections of the rocks, it’ll be easy to navigate your way to this part of the map to find the sub-camp.

Once you're back in Kamura, Kagero will give you a subquest to finish installing this camp. To fully build it, you must fulfill the following objective:

  • Slay eight Izuchi in the Shrine Ruins.

Frost Islands Sub Camps

There are two sub-camps to be found in the Frost Islands. The first one is found within this rock wall between areas six and seven. You can go around and make your way inside through a hole on the North side of the rock formation, or go over the top with a well-aimed Wirebug jump.

Once you're back in Kamura, Kagero will give you a subquest to finish installing this camp. To fully build it, you must fulfill the following objective:

  • Slay eight Zamite in the Frost Islands.

The second one is much further to the North, between areas ten and eight. You can see the sub-camp is surrounded by another rock wall, with an entrance being visible from the West side. Once you see this giant rock formation, you will know exactly where the camp is and how to get to it. Giant Wirebugs will lead you here swiftly.

Once you're back in Kamura, Kagero will give you a subquest to finish installing this camp. To fully build it, you must fulfill the following objective:

  • Turn in two Warm Pelts and four Monster Bone S.

Sandy Plains Sub Camps

There are two sub-camps to be set up in the Sandy Plains. The first is to the Northwest of where you start, among some old ruins that you will be able to plainly see on the map. Make your way up to the ruins with the Wirebugs, and you’ll easily find this camp.

Once you're back in Kamura, Kagero will give you a subquest to finish installing this camp. To fully build it, you must fulfill the following objective:

  • Slay eight Kestodon in the Sandy Plains.

The second sub-camp is a tiny bit harder to find. It’s nestled between areas eight, nine, and five, and it acts as a small oasis in the desert, complete with a pond for fishing. Again, you can just use Wirebug jumps to go straight over the top and make your way in or move around to the North side to find an entrance.

Once you're back in Kamura, Kagero will give you a subquest to finish installing this camp. To fully build it, you must fulfill the following objective:

  • Turn in one Lagombi Pelt and two Monster Bone M.

Flooded Forest Sub Camps

There’s just one sub-camp to find in the Flooded Forest. This sub-camp feels tougher to find, especially since it isn’t clearly marked on the map with anything distinguishing. Between areas eleven and six is a rock formation, and high atop it you will be able to find the camp. To the South side of the rock formation you can see on our map you will find vines that will enable you to climb all the way up.

Once you're back in Kamura, Kagero will give you a subquest to finish installing this camp. To fully build it, you must fulfill the following objective:

  • Slay eight Wroggi in the Shrine Ruins.

Lava Caverns Sub Camps

The dangerous Lava Caverns have two camps hidden away. The first sub-camp is actually fairly simple to find. Just stay above ground and high up, and make your way towards area ten. At the most Northern point of area ten, near a lot of lava, you’ll find the sub-camp. Surprisingly simple!

Once you're back in Kamura, Kagero will give you a subquest to finish installing this camp. To fully build it, you must fulfill the following objective:

  • Slay eight Uroktor in the Shrine Ruins.

The second camp is a bit more treacherous, though. It’s wedged between areas six and seven, and it’s awkward to get to, especially if you end up below ground. From the below method there is a gust of wind that will take you to the surface, and the sub-camp nearby. Escape the gust of wind using a Wirebug jump. You can also approach above ground from the South, using Wirebugs to make it over dangerous gaps.

Once you're back in Kamura, Kagero will give you a subquest to finish installing this camp. To fully build it, you must fulfill the following objective:

  • Turn in one Tetranadon Hide and two Monster Bone L.

Jungle Sub Camps

The Jungle area has one sub-camp. You can find it on the center part of the map, northside from the big tree. It'll be covered by thick branches, so you must climb up to the entrance from the ground level.

Once you're back in Elgado, Oboro will give you a subquest to finish installing this camp. To fully build it, you must fulfill the following objective:

  • Slay eight Hermitaur in the Jungle.

Citadel Sub Camps

The Citadel area has one sub-camp. To access it, you must go through a small entrance in the northeastern side of the map, until you reach the cave where the camp is in.

Once you're back in Elgado, Oboro will give you a subquest to finish installing this camp. To fully build it, you must fulfill the following objective:

  • Slay eight Boggi in the Citadel.
