In Cult of the Lamb, you'll encounter Tarot Cards when you go on crusades. They'll provide you with a range of bonuses, from extra health to a bump in reward quality to giving you defensive bonuses that make your runs easier. To get them, you usually need to find card rooms during your crusade, which are only found on nodes with combat. Sometimes, you can acquire them as room rewards.

You'll begin each crusade with a clean slate - every run will provide you with a new set of Tarot Card rewards. There are 36 Tarot Cards in the game, and you'll have to unlock the vast majority of them through quests or various merchants.

All Tarot Cards And How To Get Them

Some of these cards are purchased in certain areas that must be unlocked first. Here's how to unlock them.

Lonely Shack Complete Ratau's tutorial quests.
Pilgrim's Passage Meet the Fisherman in the Darkwood dungeon.
Spore Grotto Meet a group of Mushroom characters in the Anura dungeon.
Smuggler's Sanctuary Meet Plimbo in the Anchordeep dungeon.
Midas's Cave Find a signpost pointing towards the area in the Silk Cradle dungeon.

Once you've beaten Ratau at Knucklebones, you'll now be able to encounter the next Knucklebones opponent during a crusade. Only once you've beaten this character can you face the next one.

Tarot Card Effect How To Unlock
The Hearts I Gain half a heart container. You begin the game with this card unlocked by default.
The Hearts II Gain a heart container. Win a game of Knucklebones against Ratau at the Lonely Shack.
The Hearts III Gain two heart containers. Sold in the heart node of a dungeon by Ratoo. It costs 100 gold.
Weeping Moon Deal 30% more damage during nighttime. Sold for gold at the Spore Grotto.
Nature's Boon Receive more resources. Sold for gold at Pilgrim's Passage.
The Lovers I Gain one temporary heart container. You begin the game with this card unlocked by default.
The Lovers II Gain two temporary heart containers. Perform a ritual unlocked through the second Law and Order Doctrine. This will either be marrying a cultist or starting a fight pit.
All Seeing Sun Deal 20% more damage during daytime. Sold for gold at Pilgrim's Passage.
True Sight All attacks have a 10% chance of being a critical hit. You begin the game with this card unlocked by default.
Telescope Reveals the map. You begin the game with this card unlocked by default.
Hands of Rage Fires a strong projectile when you swing your weapon. This has a 10 second cooldown. Sold for gold at Pilgrim's Passage.
The Burning Dead The corpses of enemies will explode, dealing damage to other enemies. Sold for 10 Gold Bars at Midas's Cave.
Diseased Heart Adds one diseased heart container. These damage all enemies when damaged. You begin the game with this card unlocked by default.
The Arachnid Makes your attacks inflict the poison status. You begin the game with this card unlocked by default.
Divine Strength Increases your attack rate by 25%. You begin the game with this card unlocked by default.
Master of the Art Increases your weapon damage by 20%. You begin the game with this card unlocked by default.
The Path Increases your movement speed by 25%. Sold for gold at the Spore Grotto.
Fervour's Harvest Doubles the amount of Fervour that enemies drop. You begin the game with this card unlocked by default.
Soul Snatcher Gives you a 10% chance to heal when defeating enemies. Solf forgold at the Smuggler's Sanctuary.
Shield of Faith Gives you a 10% chance of negating damage. You begin the game with this card unlocked by default.
The Bomb Creates a bomb when you roll. This has a 10 second cooldown. Sold for gold at the Smuggler's Sanctuary.
Ichor Earned Drops black ichor whenever struck. Sold for 8 Gold Bars at Midas's Cave.
Ichor Lingered Drops black ichor whenever you roll. This has a 10 second cooldown. Sold for gold at the Smuggler's Sanctuary.
Mithridatism Makes you immune to poison. Win a game of Knucklebones against Flinky at the Lonely Shack.
Blazing Trail Makes rolling hurt enemies. Sold for gold at the Spore Grotto.
Divine Curse Your curses consume 25% less Fervour than usual. You begin the game with this card unlocked by default.
Strength from Within Your Fervour will slowly recover over time. Win a game of Knucklebones against Shrumy at the Lonely Shack.
Strength from Without Your Fervour will rise when you are struck. Win a game of Knucklebones against Klunko and Bop at the Lonely Shack.
Neptunes Curse Enemies have a chance of dropping fish items. Catch your first fish at Pilgrim's Pass.
Fortune's Blessing All health pickups are doubled in value. You begin the game with this card unlocked by default.
Death's Door Deal damage to all enemies onscreen when reduced to a single half-heart. You begin the game with this card unlocked by default.
The Deal If you are killed, you will be revived with one heart container instead of ending your run. Sold for 20 Gold Bars at Midas's Cave.
Rabbits Foot Increases the chance that you receive better chests when clearing rooms. You begin the game with this card unlocked by default.
Ambrosia Increases the damage dealt by your curses by 25%. Sold by Forneus the merchant on a shop node in a dungeon.
Gift From Below Gain a 10% chance of acquiring a temporary heart container when defeating enemies. You begin the game with this card unlocked by default.
Fervour's Host Fervour replenishes fully when entering a new room. Given to you by Shelob, the follower merchant, after buying a follower from him. You'll then encounter him in a dungeon.

Rare Tarot Cards

Sometimes, when given the choice to pick up a Tarot Card, you'll be presented with either shiny or rainbow-colored cards. These are stronger versions of the cards that have either one or two + symbols next to their names. You will usually be able to see just how much stronger they are.

These are very rare - do not rely on encountering them.
