Destiny 2: A Complete Guide To The Skydock IV Master Lost Sector
Skydock IV is the easiest Master Lost Sector in Destiny 2. Here's how to speedrun it.
Destiny 2's Legendary Lost Sectors can be quite difficult to farm if you're just starting out. Dozens of Champions and tough enemies filter out most builds, yet Skydock IV is a rare exception. Runs of this Lost Sector take just over a minute and can easily be farmed, leading to the best Lost Sector farm in Destiny 2.

Before you jump into Skydock IV, be sure you have a high Resilience stat, The Lament Exotic Sword, and some form of healing. This guide will cover the modifers you can expect, which loadout to use, and we'll quickly go over how to successfully farm Skydock IV.
Updated September 21st, 2022, by Charles Burgar: While the speedrunning strategy for Skydock IV has not changed with Season of the Plunder, some balance changes and an Artifact refresh has shaken up our loadout recommendations somewhat. We've updated this guide with new loadout recommendations to reflect current Artifact mods.
Modifiers And Recommended Loadout
Skydock IV is the easiest Lost Sector you can farm. It's possible to skip the first two rooms and still achieve Platinum ratings, allowing you to clear a Master-tier run in just over a minute. The modifiers for this Lost Sector are listed below.
Skydock IV Modifiers
Skydock IV Modifiers |
Burn | Solar |
Shields | Void |
Champions | Barrier and Unstoppable |
Attrition | Regeneration is greatly impaired. Defeating enemies may create wells of Light. |
Pestilence | When defeated, Psions spawn Void grenades at their feet. |
Master Difficulty |
Equipment Locked | You will not be able to change your equipped loadout after this activity starts. |
Match Game | Enemy shields are highly resistant to all unmatched elemental damage. |
Extra Champions | This mode contains additional Champions. |
Limited Revives | Limited fireteam revives. Gain additional revives by defeating Champions. |
Skydock IV is normally a cutthroat Lost Sector. Attrition and narrow corridors force you to play aggressively or run Solar. Fortunately, you can skip every room leading to the boss and still achieve Platinum. Bring a good DPS Heavy and a method of breaking Void shields. Unstoppable counters are also recommended.
Recommended Loadout
Subclasses |
Hunter | Nightstalker |
Titan | Sunbreaker |
Warlock | Dawnblade |
Hunters should use Nightstalker for this Lost Sector. You'll have multiple ways of becoming invisible, making it much easier to speedrun Skydock IV. Use Graviton Forfeit, Omnioculus, or The Sixth Coyote.
Titans can ignore damage altogether with Sunbreaker. Spec for 100 Resilience, use Loreley Splendor, and run Sol Invictus to stack tons of DR with HP regen. The end result is a loadout that makes this Lost Sector a breeze to farm.
Warlocks can use Dawnblade to gain access to x2 Restoration. If you use Touch of Flame and Healing Grenade, you can buff yourself with a powerful Cure and Restoration effect. Spec for 100 Resilience to dramatically increase your effective health pool.
If you're playing a Solar subclass, use the Inferno Whip Artifact mod to counter Unstoppables with your melee ability. This will make Skydock much easier to clear.
Weapons |
Lament | Heals you and deals great damage. |
Gjallarhorn | Deals great damage. |
Parasite | Deals absurd damage if you can kill enemies beforehand. |
Yesteryear | Breaks Void Shields and counters Unstoppables this season. |
Any Unstoppable Weapon | You'll need to stun Unstoppable Champions somehow. |
We highly recommend you use Lament and Yesteryear. The former deals absurd damage with the active burn while healing you, and the latter counters Unstoppables and Void shields. This will let you clear the boss room with ease and, with practice, achieve one-minute runs. Lament users should also use Lucent Blade with Empowering Finisher for an easy 35% damage buff.

Skydock IV Walkthrough
We will only be guiding you on how to speedrun this Lost Sector. This strategy grants Platinum runs in about a minute. Legend is technically easier, but Master has better Exotic drop rates. Both difficulties use the same strategy.
Skydock IV Enemies
- One Unstoppable Incendior
- Colossus Boss
- Incendiors (Void)
- Legionaries
- Psions
Right as you spawn, you'll want to drop down and immediately book it to the final boss. Ignore all of the enemies. If you kill a few of them, more Champions will spawn and brick the Platinum speedrun. Use invisibility or Restoration effects to make it past the enemies.
In the boss arena, you'll want to focus on the Unstoppable Incendior. It'll spawn to your left as you enter. Stun it with your Unstoppable weapon, then use Lament or Gjallarhorn to quickly burst down the Champion. With Lament, you'll want to use a three-hit light attack combo before initiating a heavy attack. You'll recover most of your HP.
At the back-left corner of the room will be the Colossus boss. Once again, use Lament or Gjallarhorn to kill them. This shouldn't take long with the Solar burn active. Immediately grab the Lost Sector chest. Rinse and repeat as needed. If you're struggling to survive, spec for 100 Resilience and use a Solar subclass. Cure and Restoration effects make you substantially harder to kill.
