Cemetery Shade Boss Fight

Caelid Catacombs is a dungeon in Elden Ring. It is located on the southwest side of Caelid, near the Cathedral of Dragon Communion. The catacombs has areas inside filled with Scarlet Rot, and also contains enemies like the Poison Flowers that can spray Scarlet Rot, quickening the status build up. You will not find much notable loot here; however, if you are in search of Spirit Ashes, then you have come to the right place.

If you manage to find a pointing statue, you can figure out where it is without looking at any map. Here is all you need to know about Caelid Catacombs.

Dungeon Walkthrough

The player standing near the Site of Grace.

After reaching the destination marked on the map, you will see a closed door that you have to open. Open it and go down towards the Site of Grace. Interact with the Grace and make sure that you have the Flame Cleanse Me (Incantation) with you. This is a must spell for this Catacomb as most of the areas inside are heavily filled with Scarlet Rot. Go down the stairs and enter the first room.

Here you need to cross the Scarlet Rot and kill the Poison Flowers. Collect Grave Glovewort [4] from this room and head to the next area. There will be a Skeleton waiting to ambush you on the left, so be wary of that. Kill it and loot the Grave Glovewort [3].

Go ahead to reach a new room with stairs going down.

Take the stairs down and turn back. Hit the wall at the right corner to reveal an illusionary wall, behind which you will find x3 Grave Glovewort [5] and Miranda Sprout Ashes. Turn back and face the three Poison Flowers and one Giant Poison Flower. After killing the Giant Flower, collect Grave Violet, Grave Glovewort [3], and Grave Glovewort [4].

Go through the door and down the stairs to reach another room where there is a pillar in the middle surrounded by Scarlet Rot. Collect x3 Ghost Glovewort [4] and go towards the backside of the pillar.

Here you will see a wall that you can strike using your melee weapon, revealing another illusionary wall. Behind it is the lever that, when activated, opens the door to the Heavy Door. Go ahead and through the door to reach the boss gate.

Cemetery Shade Boss Fight

Cemetery Shade is the boss at the end of Caelid Catacombs. It has the same attacks as the Cemetery Shade you fight in Weeping Peninsula. The Cemetery Shade does not have many attacks, but it can teleport towards or away from you. This makes the boss dictate the pace of the fight. If you attacking the boss continuously, it can teleport out and cast its Green Orb that can stun you, leading to serious damage.

However, the boss has a lot of weaknesses. The Cemetery Shade does not have much health. A few hits with a highly upgraded weapon can take it out quickly. The boss is also extremely easy to parry. If the parry is successful, you can land a critical hit that will take a massive chunk of its health bar.
