Vyke, Knight of the Roundtable, is a boss in Elden Ring. You encounter the boss in an Evergaol in the Mountaintops of the Giants. The boss appears as an invader near the Church of Inhibition in Liurnia of the Lakes, known as Festering Fingerprint Vyke.
Once a Knight of the Roundtable, Vyke was imprisoned because of his wishes to burn the Erdtree using the Frenzied Flame. Vyke is considered to be one of the hardest Evergaol bosses because of his consistent attack pattern and usage of high damage Lightning spells. Vyke, Knight of the Roundtable, is a boss you encounter in Lord Contender's Evergaol in the Mountaintops of the Giants. The boss is optional, and you can return later if you are facing trouble. Not facing it will not change the outcome of any ending whatsoever. Defeating the boss will get you his entire Armor Set which has a good look on every character. He also drops an Incantation to buff yourself with red lightning.
Vyke, Knight of the Roundtable Attacks
The boss has a number of attacks that he uses throughout the fight. Attacks to look out for are Leaping Slam and Dual Lightning Spear. Getting hit by these attacks can temporarily knock you back and deal serious damage.

Spear Thrust
The boss thrusts his spear forward. The boss can do this multiple times.
Counter: Rolling back or dodging either side should avoid the attack completely.
Spear Charge
Vyke starts to charge with his spear in front. This attack can break your shield and persists for a few seconds.
Counter: Run away from the boss and dodge to either side as the animation of the thrust starts.
Leaping Slam
The boss lifts up in the air and slams down his spear, infused with windy lightning.
Counter: Rolling back can avoid taking damage from the slam. Do note that the slam has a small AOE radius around it, causing you to take damage if you are near it for a few seconds.
Lightning Buff
The boss buffs himself with lightning making all his attacks to deal lightning damage and adding more attacks to his arsenal.
Dual Lightning Spear
Vyke jumps up and slams down two lightning spears, one after the other that causes a large AOE area where lightning persists for a few seconds.
Counter: As soon as you see the boss jumping up and holding two spears, you need to run away to the opposite side. Stay away until the lightning on the ground goes away.
Horned Bolt
The boss casts two to three lightning bolts at the player, which have high tracking.
Counter: Rolling to the side as the boss casts the bolts will allow you to dodge them.
Vyke, Knight of the Roundtable Strategy
Vyke, Knight of the Roundtable, is quite an intimidating fight. As Vyke counts as an NPC boss, he can heal himself using a Crimson Flask once in the fight. As the fight takes place inside the Evergaol, it means that you can not use Torrent or summon Spirit Ashes or online players. This makes the fight one versus one, thus making it much more challenging.
Vyke uses a number of lightning attacks; however, he can only do this if he has buffed himself with a Lightning buff. If he is not buffed, then he will only use Spear Thrust or Spear Charge attacks. During the Buff animation, you will have a few seconds to get in range of the boss and get free hits as the boss does not punish you during this attack.
Lightning is quite useful against Vyke. Despite him being able to use Lightning, he himself has low Lightning resistance. For melee weapons, Dragon King's Cragblade is a really good armament because of its Lightning Skill. It deals massive damage to the boss and also breaks Poise. For Faith Build casters, having good Lightning spells like Lightning Spear, Frozen Lightning Spear, and Fortissax's Lightning Spear are great options to take into the fight.
You can equip the Boltdrake Talisman, which will increase Lightning Damage Negation. This helps take less damage from the many lightning attacks Vyke has. Bull-Goat and Malformed Dragon Armor Sets have the highest Lightning Defense giving great value for this fight. You acquire Bull-Goat set from Patches' Questline and Malformed Dragon Set after defeating the Draconic Tree Sentinel in Crumbling Farum Azula.

Festering Vyke is the version of the boss that you will encounter in Liurnia of the Lakes. The boss is optional and does not affect any ending in the game. However, if you want to complete Hyetta's questline, you will have to defeat Vyke and acquire the Fingerprint Grape from him for Hyetta. You can face the boss even if you are not on her questline.

Festering Fingerprint Vyke has a number of moves that resemble his other fight at Mountaintops of the Giants.

Spear Thrust
The boss thrusts his spear forward. The boss can do this multiple times. This deals damage and increases Madness buildup.
Counter: Rolling back or dodging either side are the best options. You can also block using a shield and perform a Guard Counter.
Spear Charge
Vyke starts to charge with his spear in front. This attack can break your shield and persists for a few seconds. This can cause Madness buildup.
Counter: Run away from Vyke during this animation or jump up during the attack.
Howl of Shabriri
The boss holds his head with his both of his hands and howls, causing Madness to build up if you are near the area.
Counter: It has a short-range, so you can start running as soon as you see him start this animation.
Jumping Flame Spear
The boss leaps up in the air and strikes his spear down on the ground which is blazing in flame. This can deal damage and cause Madness to Build up.
Counter: As the boss goes up in the air you can run away and towards the back of the boss to get a few hits in.
Frenzied Burst
Vyke holds his head with his both of his hands and shoots a beam that has a fast travel time and massive range. This attack can cause Madness to build up.
Counter: Keep on the move as Vyke holds his head and roll to either side as the beam comes through.
Flame of Frenzy
The boss lets out flames in a wide area. This area can cause Madness to build up.
Counter: Run away from the boss as you see him casting flames on the ground from his eyes.
Festering Finger Vyke Strategy
Spacing is key in this fight. As almost all of Vyke's attacks deal Frenzy damage staying near the boss during his AOE attacks can cause Madness to build up. Once the bar is full, you will take a chunk of damage, and you will be stunned by the animation for a few seconds. All of the attacks Vyke has have slow recovery allowing you to counter the boss multiple times. As Vyke is an invader and an NPC, he does not have much Poise.
Most attacks you will do can stagger him, interrupting any attacks from Vyke. An aggressive playstyle in this fight can be more advantageous for you. Any long-range spells with fast cast speed are great for this fight. Lightning Spear and Horned Bolt are good Incantations with high tracking and long-range.
General Tips
- Be Level 100 or Higher. Having a high level in this fight can be extremely advantageous to you.
- Always stay on the move trying to avoid any of his spells and AOE lightning attacks.
- Bait the boss to do the Leaping Slam and punish it by going around the boss and doing a Back Stab.
- Try to get multiple hits in when the boss casts Buff on himself.
