One of the most time-consuming activities in Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a specific request that opens up quite early on in the game. It will take you all over Hisui, collecting 107 Wisps of purple energy for a little girl who rewards you for them.

Those in the know will be suspicious about the number 107, and they will be proved right when this request turns out to be the key to finding Spiritomb, a Pokemon associated with a very similar number. This guide will walk you through every step you need to take with the completion of this request and beyond.

Eerie Apparitions In The Dark

The Wisp that starts the Wisp Request in Pokemon Legends Arceus

Eerie Apparitions in the Dark is the name of the request that asks you to collect Wisps. You can start it at night in Jubilife Village once a small Wisp appears near the river. Talk to it, and it will turn out to be a little girl named Vessa who tasks you with gathering Wisps, pointing one out for you to begin with.

Once that's over with, you have free rein to gallivant all over Hisui, collecting Wisps. Drop in from time to time, however, as Vessa will reward you based on how many Wisps you've gathered.

Wisps Delivered Reward
5 Wisps Oval Stone
10 Wisps Rare Candy
20 Wisps Seed of Mastery
30 Wisps Dusk Stone
40 Wisps Exp. Candy L
50 Wisps Linking Cord
60 Wisps 5 Grit Pebbles
70 Wisps Reaper Cloth
80 Wisps 3 Seeds of Mastery
90 Wisps 2 Exp. Candy XL
100 Wisps 3 Grit Rocks

Some of these rewards are very valuable:

  • The Oval Stone, Dusk Stone, Linking Cord, and Reaper Cloth are all used to evolve certain Pokemon.
  • Seeds of Mastery can be used to instantly master a move when given to Zisu at the Training Grounds.
  • Grit Rocks are used to increase a Pokemon's Effort Levels in a chosen stat.

Quest Rewards

The Odd Keystone in the Crimson Mirelands in Pokemon Legends Arceus

Once you have found all 107 Wisps and delivered them to Vessa, you'll be informed that there is one more Wisp, making a total of 108 - Spiritomb's number. Once you have received all the rewards listed above, you'll be directed to head to the Odd Keystone, which can be found in the Crimson Mirelands.

Head there by following the quest marker and Vessa will thank you. You'll obtain three Twice-Spiced Radishes and the request will be completed... but you'll soon feel a strong presence looming over you.

Spiritomb has spawned.

How To Catch Spiritomb

It's very likely that you'll be seen by Spiritomb before you see it, but that's fine - fighting it in a Pokemon battle is probably the best way to catch it. It's a level 60 Ghost/Dark-type Pokemon with a lot of bulk and a singular weakness to Fairy-type moves.

It's inadvisable to use super-effective moves against it as they are decently likely to faint the Pokemon in one hit before you can catch it. Instead, try using weak moves and healing your team up as necessary, getting Spiritomb's health as low as possible. Paralysis or Drowsy will make your PokeBalls more likely to catch the ghost too, so consider packing a Pokemon that knows, for example, Thunder Wave.

Luckily, you don't need to catch multiple Spiritomb to complete its Pokedex entry. You just need to see it use certain moves enough times to get it to level ten!
