Pokemon Legends: Arceus takes players to Hisui, a past version of the region known as Sinnoh where things are a bit different from the modern take seen in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. From places like Mount Coronet, to the Veilstone Cape and Snowpoint Temple, you will discover an entirely new place where the things you think you know are not quite as you remember them.

Between the many changes this game presents are the new three starter pokemon you will meet at the beginning. These are from other regions such as Johto, Unova, and Alola, sporting their own Hisuian evolutions with new types and all. However, the three classic Sinnoh starters Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup, can now be found as wild pokemon, and here's everything you need to know to get them.

How To Get Turtwig

Turtwig will show up in a very, very small zone at the most southern part of the Droning Meadow, in the Crimson Mirelands. Keep in mind that this area has a pond that occupies most of it, leaving only a short path to walk in. Getting access to the high grass patches surrounding this pokemon can be tricky, so be as stealthy as you can and avoid attracting the attention of any other pokemon in this zone to successfully catch Turtwig as fast as you can.

How To Get Chimchar

To get Chimchar you have to be able to ride Basculegion since this area is only accessible by either water or flying, since it will be chilling around the woods in Ramanas Island, in the Obsidian Fieldlands. This small island will also have an Alpha Infernape and several Aipom and other pokemon roaming across the place, so be sure to lure it from a safe place or hide on a patch of high grass from where you can throw pokeballs.

How To Get Piplup

To find and catch Piplup you must have access to the third zone, the Cobalt Coastlands, and at least be able to ride Basculegion since its spawn area is only accessible by either water or flying. Once you arrive at the Islespy Shore, you must walk a bit further and Piplup will be chilling around a small pond, in the Spring Path area. You must keep in mind that it will be surrounded by Bibarels, so be careful to not attract too much attention and separate it from the rest using a Lure, to successfully catch it.

How To Get Alpha Sinnoh Starters

You can also find fully evolved Alpha versions of these three pokemon, each one usually near the spawning points of their initial forms. The list goes as follows:

  • Alpha Torterra sits in the Holm Of Trials area of the Crimson Mirelands.
  • Alpha Infernape will be roaming at the center Ramanas Island in the Obsidian Fieldlands.
  • Alpha Empoleon can be found at the Islespy Shore in the Cobalt Coastlands.

These three pokemon will be around level 65 when you fight them, so be prepared and take a lot of poke balls (Ultra balls preferably, if you can afford them), because it'll be hard.
