The Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack for Destiny 2 is filled with references to Bungie's past video games. Certain weapons and cosmetics from Halo, Marathon, and even Myth have made their way into Destiny 2. This DLC's unique title, Vidmaster, follows this same trend. What was originally a series of challenges for Bungie's Halo games has been migrated to Destiny 2's title system.

Instead of completing challenges to obtain a set of Recon Armor for your Spartan, you'll be completing in-game Triumphs to unlock the Vidmaster title and a flaming tiger helmet. Let's go over how to complete all ten Triumphs to help you become a Destiny 2 Vidmaster.

Let's See What You'll Be Taking Home

Let's See What You'll Be Taking Home: Spend Treasure Keys in Xur's Treasure Room on Eternity.

For this Triumph, you'll need 20 Treasure Keys at Xur's Treasure Hoard. You can spend the Treasure Keys on any rewards you like—cosmetics, the Sweaty Confetti mod, or 30th Anniversary weapons. There isn't a quick way of earning Treasure Keys beyond playing a lot of Dares of Eternity. You'll need to regardless if you want to obtain Forerunner's Exotic Catalyst, so don't focus too much on this challenge. By the time you've finished the other Vidmaster challenges, you should have 20 Treasure Keys to redeem.

Fateful Spin

Fateful Spin: Face each of the Wheel of Adversity's challenges in the Dares of Eternity on Legend difficulty.

You'll need to defeat every faction that spawns from the Wheel of Adversity on Legend Dares of Eternity. For clarity, the Wheel of Adversity refers to the first two combat encounters in Dares of Eternity, not the final boss. The following factions and respective objectives are listed below:

Faction Objective
Fallen Defuse mines scattered across the arena.
Hive Destroy Hive crystals by obtaining a buff from slain Knights.
Vex Use beam weapons from slain Vex to remove Vex Minotaur shields before killing them.
Cabal Defeat Cabal commanders by throwing artillery orbs at them.
Taken Defeat a Taken Minotaur to spawn munitions that can destroy a Taken Blight.

Try to obtain the Starhorse's Favor buff to make these objectives easier. It'll give you regenerating Heavy ammo for the next encounter. You can obtain it right after the first encounter by making a perfect jump with the gravity lift and beating the subsequent platforming puzzle. If you wait for the half-circle anchored to the right of the platform to line up with a rotating half-circle, you'll always make the jump.

Repeat Winner

Repeat Winner: Defeat final bosses in Dares of Eternity.

Defeating 20 final bosses in Dares of Eternity will finish this Triumph. This goes hand-in-hand with the Let's See What You'll Be Taking Home Triumph. It doesn't matter which final boss you defeat for this Triumph; all of them count. All of them are fairly easy on Normal, and Legend doesn't seem to give additional progress. Once again, focus on other Triumphs first. This one will take care of itself.

Special Guest Scar

Special Guest Scar: Defeat Xur's Chosen in the Lightning Round.

A Lightning Round is a random event that can spawn at the very end of a Dares of Eternity run. While active, Guardians must capture zones around the boss arena while waves of enemies spawn at your location. A special miniboss called Xur's Chosen will also spawn during the round. You must defeat Xur's Chosen during three different Lightning Rounds to finish this Triumph.

Unfortunately, Lightning Rounds are completely random. There are only two ways of biasing their spawn rate:

  1. Increase your score during a Dares of Eternity run.
  2. Play on Legend difficulty.

Legend difficulty has a slightly higher chance of spawning a Lightning Round. Your team's score also has a slight bias towards its spawn rate. The higher your score, the higher your chances of a Lightning Round spawning—even if that increased chance is marginal at best. Keep running Dares of Eternity to finish this challenge. It'll eventually spawn.

Old Friends, Old Couch

Old Friends, Old Couch: Complete Dares of Eternity on Legend difficulty with a fireteam of 2 to 4 Guardians.

This isn't as hard as it sounds. Get a fireteam of four together to make this as easy as possible, and have each player bring a good Heavy weapon. Some good picks include Gjallarhorn, Sleeper Simulant, and One Thousand Voices. If you can, bring a Warlock with Well of Radiance to help your team stay alive during the final boss. A Titan or Hunter running Stasis is also a huge help here.

Your main goal is to obtain the Starhorse's Favor buff during the game. You can obtain it after the first encounter by making a successful jump with the gravity lift and beating the subsequent platforming puzzle. The second (and much easier) way of getting the buff is to stand on the correct plate before the final boss. The final boss is always the same for Legend Dares of Eternity. Before you start the mission, check the mission modifiers to see what the final boss is. This will tell you which faction is correct for the final boss, granting your entire team infinite Heavy ammo for the final boss.

Daring Displays

Daring Displays: Complete Starhorse bounties. Weekly and Legend-difficulty Starhorse bounties grant additional progress.

Daring Displays requires that you complete 15 Starhorse bounties. The Starhorse is a vendor in Xur's Treasure Hoard that gives out bounties and reward exchanges. Starhorse will have six bounties available at any given moment, three of which are weekly. The sixth bounty from Starhorse is tied to the Legend variant of Dares of Eternity. The three weekly bounties count as multiple bounties, and the weekly Legend bounty counts for even more.

With that said, your best bet is to complete daily bounties. The weekly bounties are quite time-intensive and require high score thresholds that can be tough to meet with a public group. You get three dailies each day, meaning this will take five days to finish if you complete three a day. If you own multiple characters, this will only take two days.

Paraversal Prize

Paraversal Prize: Earn the Exotic Sidearm, Forerunner.

Forerunner is Destiny's take on the Halo: Combat Evolved Magnum. It's a devastating Sidearm and arguably one of the best Kinetic weapons in the game. You can start this quest by grabbing the "Magnum Opus" quest from Xur at this Treasure Hoard. For more information on obtaining Forerunner and its Exotic Catalyst, check out our Forerunner guide.

Grasp Of Avarice Complete

Grasp of Avarice Complete: Complete the "Grasp of Avarice" dungeon.

Note: The Gjallarhorn quest also requires that you clear the Grasp of Avarice dungeon. Grab the Gjallarhorn quest first and progress to that step before you clear this dungeon.

The Grasp of Avarice dungeon is the 30th Anniversary Pack's main selling point, giving players a chance to farm for some of Destiny's most coveted items. Grasp of Avarice requires ownership of the Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack; this content is not free. Bring a good Fusion Rifle with Particle Deconstruction. You're going to need it.

And Out Fly The Wolves

And Out Fly The Wolves: Earn the Exotic Rocket Launcher Gjallarhorn.

Gjallarhorn is back in its full glory, obtainable by finishing the "And Out Fly The Wolves" quest from Xur. You can obtain this quest at his Treasure Trove upon completing your first Dares of Eternity run and after purchasing the Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack DLC. You'll need to complete the Grasp of Avarice dungeon, farm some Lost Sectors, then speak to Shaw Han to obtain this weapon. Its Catalyst can be found in hidden chests scattered throughout the Grasp of Avarice dungeon.

The Richest Dead Man Alive

The Richest Dead Man Alive: Recover Wilhelm-7's messages.

The Grasp of Avarice dungeon has 12 hidden messages from Wilhelm-7 that players can find. All of them are messages in a bottle that can be found in between each encounter. We'll have all of these collectibles added to our Grasp of Avarice guide at some point in the future. Until then, YouTuber Esoterickk has a video guide that showcases where to find all 12 of them.
