Resident Evil Village's upcoming Shadows of Rose DLC is fast-approaching and with it comes a new way to experience the game's already released Mercenaries mode. For players who purchase the upcoming Gold Edition of Resident Evil Village, they'll be able to play as either Chris Redfield, Heisenburg, or the notorious Lady Dimitrescu. If you're wondering how that's possible considering Lady D is well over nine feet tall, it turns out a slight adjustment was needed to make her playable.

In an interview with Polygon, the Winters' Expansion director Kento Kinoshita revealed that Lady D's height was a bit of an issue when it came to letting players step into her boots. According to Kinoshita, the developers wanted players to be able to easily control Lady D, so they shrunk her to a little under nine feet to stop them from bumping into the ceiling. Fear not though, as Lady D's Mercenaries stature is still a lot bigger than any other playable character.

"Lady Dimitrescu’s height brought up a lot of challenges during development, but in the end we were able to implement her with a giant stature, taller than any of the other characters," says Kinoshita. "For The Mercenaries, it’s necessary that the player can control their character easily, and to make that possible we did adjust her height to a little under nine feet tall. At that height, the player just barely avoids bumping into the ceiling."

As for what else the Gold Edition of Resident Evil Village will include, the aforementioned Shadows of Rose DLC comes along with it and promises the end of the Winters family saga. The DLC along with the Gold Edition of Resident Evil Village launch later this month on October 28, although you can purchase the DLC separate from the Gold Edition.
