Insomniac delivered an amazing experience with its Spider-Man game, taking us on a unique journey through the eyes of long-time hero Peter Parker. With the entire city, and eventually, the world, endangered by a biological weapon called Devil’s Breath, Parker dug deep to win the day against the likes of Doctor Octopus and Mr. Negative.

Insomniac developed another game that can be viewed as a glorified DLC that centered around Miles Morales. After training Morales in the basics of being Spider-Man, Parker takes a trip with Mary Jane Watson, leaving Morales in charge of New York City. In total, there are 50 trophies to unlock in the game; however, some are more easy to miss than others. Throughout this guide, we’ll detail how to unlock the Competitive Spirit trophy in Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Find A Way In

The Competitive Spirit trophy is obtained during the mission called Like Real Scientists near the end of the game. Morales figures out that Phin might be hiding out at the abandoned Oscorp Science Museum, so he swings over to investigate the area. The surrounding museum will be littered with Underground enemies, so carefully pick off the baddies by using a combination of Morales’s camouflage and Venom attacks.

Once the enemies are all defeated, you’ll need to disable four generators to remove the electrical barrier over the roof hatch. Use your webbing to pull the giant ball structure in the center of the area to make them align with the surrounding shacks. Once the structure is aligned, you’ll notice a reddish spike conductor that can generate electricity.

By holding the left shoulder button, aim your web at the spike and connect it with the one on the structure. After connecting the webbing, the electricity will open a door revealing the generator, and you can use Morales’s Venom Strike to destroy them. Two doors will require two webbings to connect to multiple spike conductors to open them, while another conductor will be hidden behind some boxes.

Once you’ve disabled all the generators, head back to the rooftop hatch to force your way in by using your Venom Smash.

Trip Down Memory Lane

After you land in the Oscorp facility, examine the screen directly in front of you to briefly reminiscence about the past. Walk down the Virtual Gallery tunnel to the left to continue exploring the lab.

There will be a crate hidden on your left with a Tech Point, so be sure not to miss it. Use your webbing to propel yourself through the above opening to reach the main area of the museum.

Morales will try shouting out for Phin to show herself, but to no avail. Jump down from the railing above and walk around the main area. There will be a pair of toy rockets on the ground that Morales will ask himself if he or Phin won the game when they were here.

On the opposite side, the quest marker will take you through the doors of the Sea Living exhibit. Walking through the door will trigger a real flashback scene, showing Morales and Phin exploring the museum before the science contest.

Lift Off

Freely explore the Sea Living area and examine a variety of signs and projects about Oscorp’s subterranean endeavors. Continue walking up the ramp to reach the main hall of the museum. There will be several projects that you can examine to gain more information on them, but the main point of interest is to the left of the Solar Array center structure.

When you emerge from the Sea Living exhibit, continue walking straight past the memory metal display to find the rocket exhibit. Interact with the sign and Phin will tempt Morales into playing, to which he correctly states how it’s simply button mashing.

Due to his competitive nature, Morales agrees to play against Phin. Tap the square button as fast as possible to launch your rocket to the top before Phin’s to unlock the Competitive Spirit trophy.
