Cyberpunk 2077's resurgence is due in large part to the success of its anime spin-off, Edgerunners. Fans both old and new have fallen in love with the Netflix show's cast of characters, so much so that many are taking to Night City once again just to hunt down all of the references to them that were added in the latest update. And now, one fan is taking this adoration to a new level.

One Cyberpunk 2077 player dragged a mounted weapon across the entirety of Night City, all in a touching tribute to the fan favourite Edgerunner, Rebecca. Reddit user SpaceKnightLife carried Rebecca's machine gun from where they found it in Pacifica, all the way to her apartment in Watson. Better yet, they did this completely on foot, manually walking the roughly 4.7km stretch of the map, so that the weapon could be reunited with its rightful owner.

To truly get a feel for how much effort was put into this feat, I tried it myself. First of all, to get the gun in the first place, you have to bait a guard from a melee weapon's store in south Pacifica out for a fight. Once hostile, he'll whip the bad boy out and attack. However, you have to be sure not to kill him inside the store, as this will just cause the gun to disappear. Once he's down, equip the machine gun, and it's all yours - kinda.

Because it's a heavy weapon, you can't store it anywhere. All you can do is temporarily carry it, and drop it when you switch to another weapon. Oh, and you also can't run while you're lugging it around, so you're brought down to V's walking speed. So this is exactly what SpaceKnightLife did - carry it, by foot, from one side of the map to the other.

It's worth noting that the gun didn't disappear for me when I fast travelled, so that's always an option if you don't fancy the long hike. However, I guess it just goes to show SpaceKnightLife's dedication to the character, giving her weapon a procession around the city before returning it home.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is available to watch on Netflix now.
