Following pretty sudden news of Google shutting Stadia down, several developers, including IO Interactive, Ubisoft, and Bungie, have reported they're already looking for ways to allow players to transfer their progress from the cloud gaming service onto other platforms.

IO Interactive was among the first studios to comment on the matter. The developer reported it's aware of fan concerns and is already looking into ways how players can continue their Hitman experience somewhere else. While the studio hasn't provided the exact details just yet, the team apparently has some ideas about how it could be pulled off. As you'd expect, Stadia players are currently pretty enthusiastic about that. Someone even confessed to having bought the game just two days prior to the sad news, although he should simply ask for a refund.

The Danish developer isn't the only studio out there acknowledging the issue. Ubisoft has already commented to The Verge it's "currently working to bring the games [players] own on Stadia to PC through Ubisoft Connect." For now, it's unclear if you’ll be able to bring over your saves and progress. Most likely, it will also be possible for the publisher's single-player games like Assassin's Creed Valhalla, at the very least.

But it seems there might be a solution for some multiplayer projects as well, according to Bungie. Destiny 2 developer said it has "begun conversations about next steps for [its] players," and will announce further details regarding Destiny 2 Stadia accounts once the studio will have particular plans.

Nevertheless, not everyone could be that lucky, especially these poor souls who spent countless hours playing various online games via Stadia, like this person with almost 6,000 hours poured in Red Dead Online. Let's just hope Rockstar will listen and do something about it, too.
