Disney Dreamlight Valley is a sim life-based experience where you can explore, fish, cook, and craft. As you make your way through this game, your main progression is to help out the characters and become friends with them, by either unlocking these important figures or doing missions for them. Some of these tasks can be collecting ingredients, mining precious gemstones, or crafting specific items.
Doing these tasks and quests is going to take you all over the map, so you need to make sure you have access to most of the biomes available. There are multiple biomes you can unlock, and you will need these to progress for missions and unlock characters, so read on to find how to unlock all the biomes.

What Biomes Are There
In total there are seven biomes available in the game. You start in the initial biome the Plaza, but you can also gain access to:
- Peaceful Meadow
- Dazzle Beach
- Forest Of Valor
- Glade Of Trust
- Sunlit Plateau
- Frosted Heights
- Forgotten Lands
These biomes are not accessible straight away as they are blocked by night thorns, which you cannot get past until you have enough Dreamlight.
How To Unlock The Biomes
In order to unlock biomes, you need Dreamlight. This is the in-game currency you can earn as you progress through the game.
The way to get Dreamlight is to play the game and complete missions under the Dreamlight tab in the menu. There are loads of tasks for you to complete over time by gardening, fishing, cooking, and more. There are also daily tasks for you to complete that will reward you with Dreamlight, like catching a certain amount of fish or having a daily conversation.
Daily tasks reset each day, so if they are not completed, they will not carry over. Also, they are not one and done: The tasks refresh each time you complete one, so these are the quickest way to get Dreamlight.
The biomes will need certain amounts of Dreamlight to unlock. In total, you need 41,000 Dreamlight to unlock all the biomes. See the table below for the specific amounts.

Getting to the 41,000 Dreamlight can take a while, so do not try to just unlock everything at once. You also will need Dreamlight to unlock doors in the castle. It can be best for you to just play day to day and complete as many tasks as you can as you make your way through the game.
Another way you can get some Dreamlight is by crafting with Dream Shards. If you have ten shards, you can craft them into 250 Dreamlight. Bear in mind though that you do need shards for other missions, so you should only use them if desperate.
