With Genshin Impact being out and about for over two months now, the players who have consistently been keeping up with their Daily Commissions, the events, the domains, the Ley Lines, and even hunting chests are finally starting to hit Adventure Rank 50. Which, all in all, seems like good timing, considering the next big update is almost upon us.

It takes a while, but getting to level 50 is no small feat, as it also raises the World Level to 7. In celebration of that, let's take a look at some of the things only the truly experienced players miss about the good old days in the lower ranks.

10/10 How Precious The Abundance Of Chests Was

This first one is a lesson players start to learn around AR30, but it only turns into true suffering around AR45+. Basically, when people first start playing Genshin Impact, there are chests everywhere. There's a chest behind every building, a puzzle that spawns a chest in every direction, and chests that are laying about in each of the cities. And, these aren't all Common chests either, they're mostly Luxurious and even Precious Chests. But, a player is hitting AR50 has almost assuredly already opened all these chests, and the lack of neat stuff to open has led to some players dropping Genshin and checking out other games similar to it.

9/10 How Important Mystic Enhancement Ore Is

Mystic Enhancement Ore is probably the most useful resource in the game, outside of Mora. In comparison to regular Enhancement Ore, the Mystic variant is exponentially better. And, early on, they're handed out like candy. Around AR25, players who haven't been using the Blacksmith a lot might notice that they have 300+ of these things and those who have likely have around 500+. But, as the World Level gets higher and players Wish for more characters, more weapons need to be Ascended & leveled up, and this cache very quickly dwindles. At the higher ranks, players either have to go around the map grinding all of the caches or build up their collection of Mystic Ore over weeks thanks to Expeditions.

8/10 How Annoying Certain Enemies Are

When the game first starts, people are just excited to test out whatever characters they happened to get, and they're not worried about which enemies last the longest or what tactics to use against specific element types. But, as things continue and these faithful players start grinding the same Domains over and over, certain trends start to become clear. In particular, the trend of different enemy types being more frustrating to fight. For example, Cryo enemies are horrendously annoying thanks to the Frozen reaction, Whopperflowers are too tanky and take forever to chip down, groups of Fatui (a big faction in Genshin's story) only get more tedious as the World Level gets higher, and any enemy with a shield whether elemental or literal elicits a groan.

7/10 How Quickly Resin Can Dissapear With No Quests To Do

When there's no main thread of a story to follow or even any sidequests to focus on, Resin starts to disappear insanely quickly n Genshin. And, for players nearing the 50-mark, it's almost 100% confirmed that they've completed every sidequest. After that, the daily cycle of GI becomes pretty simplistic.

What used to be a two-to-three-hour play session of Genshin soon becomes less than an hour as players log on, grind the Domains they need for 20 minutes, clear their Daily Commissions, restart their Expeditions, and log right back off. Though, to play Devil's Advocate, there is a part of the fanbase that actually likes this aspect of the game.

6/10 How Much Downgrading Materials Would Be A Godsend

The way crafting works in Genshin Impact is honestly fine as is. Materials range from Common to Legendary, and each item can be upgraded to the next tier at a 3:1 ratio. So, if a character needs the blue variant of a certain material, players can still contribute towards that by grinding a bunch of the Green version and just crafting them into the higher rank. But, as players continue to keep up with Genshin and roll their Primogems on the new banners, they're going to unlock new characters. And, those new characters need less rare materials for their weapon, talents, and Ascension levels. This is where it becomes increasingly annoying that players can't break down rare materials into their lesser forms in some way.

5/10 Where The Early Game Resin Should've Gone

As players keep moving forward in their Genshin Impact story, it only becomes easier to look back and regret. It's easy to suddenly wonder why they spent so much time using Resin on Mora Ley Lines when they desperately needed 100+ of a certain Talent Book for the character they just unlocked. Hindsight only gets stronger the higher players Ascend in Rank within Genshin Impact, which is unfortunate because there's literally nothing they can do to change it.

4/10 How Annoying The Stormterror Fight Is

As time goes on and players have to fight against Stormterror again & again each week in the pursuit of that one specific Talent Ascension material, it quickly becomes clear how much of a slog this fight is. The first time players go up against Stormterror, it's atmospheric, there are multiple phases to it, and it has a rad cutscene right after. But the 20th time? It's a bit different. The fight is slow, the risk is low, and the actual mechanic of hitting the blood clot on its neck is really buggy. It's just so lame in comparison to the other Trouce Domains, though Tartaglia's is still insanely easy using certain tricks.

3/10 How Little "Endgame" Content There Is

This is no an attempt to just "throw shade" at Genshin Impact or Mihoyo, we've been playing the game since release and it's been a ton of fun up to this point. But, the game as it stands now is unarguably unfinished. The player has only "met" two Archons, there have only seen two cities, and most "Chapters" stop at Chapter 2 a well.

There's a ton of regions hinted at by characters that aren't in the game yet, the story isn't anywhere near complete, and core parts of the lore are being intentionally ignored. Genshin is a fantastic game, but its endgame content is lacking, but it's clear that in a year or so this endgame will be a completely different experience.

2/10 How Much Constellations Really Matter

It might seem nice that every ten rolls a player is guaranteed a 4-star reward from the banner (and a 5-star at 90). And, for the most part, it is nice. But, if that hypothetical player keeps getting new characters every 10 rolls, it slowly but surely starts to turn the game into this collect-a-thon of characters that the player is never going to use. Constellations really start to matter in the late-game, but it's difficult to get the same character multiple times for most people. For example, say someone used Chongyun as their main DPS, but has never received more than one version of this lad from a single Wish. Now, say that person only wanted 8 characters, but somehow now has 20 at AR50. Does it make sense to get excited about having 20 characters when they can only use 4 at once, or does it make more sense for that person to be frustrated that they didn't get a single duplicate of the characters they love the most?

1/10 How Shallow The Daily Quest Well IS

And lastly, the more that time goes on, and the more players keep up with their Daily Commissions, the more it becomes painfully clear just how shallow this seemingly endless well of potential Daily Commissions is. At first, it seems like every there's a new never-before-seen Daily Commission Mission. But, it soon becomes apparent that this is not the case, and that there are maybe 20 of them in total. It's always Pudgy Pyrotechnics, always destroy the Hilichurl Towers, and somehow that Nun needs the Statue of the Seven cleaned again for the tenth time.
