As you explore the expansive world of Genshin Impact, you're undoubtedly going to encounter all sorts of flora and fauna that you've never seen before. Hilichurl encampments, spirited Anemoculi, and bizarre plants all populate the landscapes of this adventure-filled world.
But, these regional features are more than pure decoration. These materials are often needed for everything from leveling up your characters to crafting recipes to heal up your party. Collecting everything in sight can be critical to your progression in Genshin Impact, so this guide will help you fill up your inventory in no time. Read ahead to get the drop on all of Mondstadt's Local Specialties.
What Are The Mondstadt Specialties?
Mondstadt's Local Specialties consist of eight items that can be found all across the Mondstadt region. In the case of Mondstadt, all eight items happen to be plants, but this is not necessarily the case for other regions.
Mondstadt's Local Specialties can be used as ingredients for several regional recipes, but players will most commonly use them for character ascension. Each character hailing from Mondstadt requires a certain Local Specialty to ascend to higher levels. As a result, collecting these materials can directly influence the overall power of your characters.
Where Can I Find Mondstadt Specialties?
Here are the best locations where you can find all eight Mondstadt Local Specialties:
Calla Lily
Calla Lilies can be found in many places around Mondstadt, but especially near ponds and lakes. The highest density of Calla Lilies is surrounding the Teleport Waypoint on the south end of Springvale.
Calla Lilies are used for ascension by both Diona and Kaeya.
Location Of Cecilia
Cecilias are white flowers that bloom exclusively around Starsnatch Cliff.
Albedo and Venti use Cecilias for their ascension material.
Location Of Dandelion Seed
Dandelion Seeds can be harvested from wild dandelions. To do so, you must hit the dandelion with an Anemo ability. Dandelions are scattered sparsely around the whole of Mondstadt, but the best place to farm them is right outside the gates of the main city.
Dandelion Seeds are used to ascend Jean and Eula.
Location Of Philanemo Mushroom
This funky fungus grows primarily on the roofs and eaves of buildings, but can also occasionally be found on the sides of trees. They are most abundantly located in the City of Mondstadt and Springvale.
Barbara, Klee, and Mona all use Philanemo Mushrooms for ascension.
Speaking of Klee, she has a Passive Talent that will highlight Mondstadt Local Specialties on your mini-map. Put her and Dodoco on your team for easy scavenging!
Location Of Small Lamp Grass
Maybe one day we'll find Large Lamp Grass, but until then, Small Lamp Grass can be found in the more heavily forested areas of Mondstadt. Whispering Woods and Wolvendom are great places to look, and it can be helpful to search at night since these plants glow under the moonlight.
Small Lamp Grass is used by Amber, Diluc, and Fischl for ascension.
Location Of Valberry
Valberry plants are scattered widely across the Stormbearer Mountains and Stormbearer Point in northern Mondstadt. Fortunately, you'll harvest multiple berries per plant.
Lisa, Noelle, and Rosaria consume Valberries to ascend.
Location Of Windwheel Aster
These pinwheel-esque plants are most easily found near the giant tree at Windrise, but they also grow in large numbers throughout Stormterror's Lair.
Bennett, Sucrose, and the Traveler rely on Windwheel Aster for their ascensions.
Location Of Wolfhook
Befitting its name, Wolfhook grows within the woods of Wolvendom. This plant typically grows beneath bushes, so keep your eyes close to the ground when foraging for it.
Razor is currently the only character who uses Wolfhook for ascension.
Alternative Ways To Obtain Mondstadt Specialties
Mondstadt's Local Specialties can also be purchased from two NPCs named Flora and Chloris at a rate of five per three days.
Flora is located at her flower booth within the City of Mondstadt, across from Katheryne. Here, she will sell you Calla Lilies, Cecilias, Small Lamp Grass, and Windwheel Asters.
Her older sister Chloris moves around randomly and is difficult to find, but she's generally wandering around the road northeast of Windrise. If you can track her down, she will sell you Philanemo Mushrooms, Valberries, and Wolfhook.
Technically speaking, Dandelion Seeds can also be purchased from an NPC named Karpillia, who works over in Ritou, Inazuma. However, you might want to pass on her offer unless you're truly desperate to ascend Jean or Eula and you're also swimming in cash. Each Dandelion Seed from Karpillia will set you back a hefty 60,000 Mora.
Some of Mondstadt's Local Specialties can also be grown in the Serenitea Pot. Specifically, Cecilias, Windwheel Asters, Valberries, Small Lamp Grass, and Calla Lilies are all available to grow on your own. Their seeds can be acquired from Tubby or collected using the Seed Dispensary Gadget.
