If you're a Beidou fan in Genshin Impact, you'll probably want to get to know her via her Hangout Event. This repeatable quest offers multiple endings, each with its own rewards. You'll also get some Hangout Memories to display on the wall in your Serenitea Pot and show the world your affinity for the Crux captain.
Like all Hangout Events, the outcome of Beidou's story depends on the decisions you make during each of the quest's acts. You'll need to complete the event at least five times to get every possible ending and unlock the Honorary Crux Member Achievement.
How To Start Beidou's Hangout Event
To access When The Crux Shines Bright, the first Act of Beidou's Hangout, your Adventure Rank must be at least 30. Additionally, you'll need to have completed the main storyline quest Omnipresence Over Mortals (Chapter 2, Act 3). Hangout Events are unlocked and accessed via their tab on the Story Quests screen.
Unlocking any Hangout Event costs two Story Keys, which are earned by completing Commissions. You can claim one Story Key for every 8 Commissions you complete, so assuming you're doing every Commission available it takes a minimum of four real-world days to earn two Story Keys.
Spoiler-Free Endings Guide
Seeing all five endings in Beidou's Hangout Event earns the achievement Honorary Crux Member. If you want to see all the possible storylines yourself without spoilers, just follow the steps below. For more in-depth details of the story, see the following sections.
Between Us
- Thank the crew for taking you to Inazuma
- Look for treasure at Qingce Village
- Speak to Ren
- Speak to Changping and Defu
- Attend the village banquet between 21:00 and 24:00
Sakura Blooms Upon Guili Fell
- Thank the crew for taking you to Inazuma
- Look for treasure at Guili Plains
- Visit the locations indicated by Golden Alligator
- Visit the ruins.
- Return the message to Minamoto Kotomi.
Once Everything Is Over
- Express interest in the life of a sailor
- Choose to train with The Spear of the Crux
- Complete the boating challenge (you don't need to finish perfectly)
- Talk to Beidou in Liyue Harbor
- Follow Beidou and speak to her contacts Nei, Wai, and Mr. Iron Abacus
- Go to Guyun Stone Forest between 0:00 and 5:00 and speak to Mr. Iron Abacus there
- Talk to Beidou on the beach
Flirtatious
- Express interest in the life of a sailor
- Choose to train with The Shield of the Crux
- Speak to Yinxing, Huixing, and Xu Liushi
- Talk to Beidou and answer her questions correctly (responses 3, 2, and 2 in order)
- Attend the photography class and ask Beidou to model
- Choose the fishing village near Wangshu Inn for a backdrop
- Travel to the fishing village and chat with Beidou
- Ask Beidou to strike a flirtatious pose for the photo
Photography Class For Two
- Express interest in the life of a sailor
- Choose to train with The Shield of the Crux
- Speak to Yinxing, Huxing, and Xu Liushi
- Talk to Beidou and answer her questions correctly (responses 3, 2, and 2 in order)
- Attend the photography class and ask Beidou to model
- Choose the fishing village near Wangshu Inn for a backdrop
- Travel to the fishing village and chat with Beidou
- Ask Beidou to strike an epic pose or choose whichever pose she prefers
Spoilers for Beidou's Hangout Event Start Here
A Special Guest
Once you've started the Hangout Event, head to the Alcor and speak with Beidou. Her crew is very excited to see you and wants to welcome you as one of their own, but Beidou tells them the Traveler has to be free to walk their own path. The first two dialogue options in this event don't have any bearing on the outcome other than changing Beidou's response slightly, but the third time you have a chance to speak the storyline will branch based on your decision.
Beidou: Their excitement today comes from great respect for you - both your strength and your character... so please, don't take it the wrong way.
Response: "Why would I? I should be thanking them for taking me to Inazuma."
Beidou takes you aside, out of earshot from the rest of the crew, and shows you a treasure map she found. She is unable to make out what location the map is supposed to represent and asks your opinion. Based on your response, the story will continue as you and Beidou travel to either Qingce Village or Guili Plains to search for the treasure.
Response: "Why would I? I'm actually quite interested in the life of a sailor."
Beidou offers to let you join her new recruits for some advanced maritime training. The trainees are split into two teams, and Beidou lets you choose which one you'd like to join. The Shield of the Crux is for sailors interested in logistics and defense and brings you to the event Life on the High Seas. Conversely, The Spear of the Crux focuses on aggressive naval tactics, and joining them starts the event Beneath the Surface.
Qingce Village Treasure Hunt
If you say that Beidou's treasure map looks like Qingce Village, travel there to complete the next part of the quest. You'll be asked to weigh in on a dispute between some villagers, but your decision won't affect the ending of the Hangout. Once that's done, speak to Ren. He will tell you that Changping and Defu are arguing over some treasure they found. Talk to them in the fields; once again, your dialogue choices will not impact the ending you receive. After Beidou convinces the pair to hand over the treasure, Granny Ruoxin will hold a banquet in the village between the hours of 21:00 and 24:00. When you attend the banquet, Beidou will open the treasure chest to reveal it contains nothing but rotten cabbage, but she takes it in stride and invites everyone to celebrate with her. This concludes the Hangout Event with the ending Between Us. Taking part in the banquet also unlocks the Wine Unburdens achievement.
Guili Plains Treasure Hunt
If you follow the treasure map to Guili Plains, you'll find a gang of Treasure Hoarders led by Golden Alligator. They talk tough, but back down once they realize they're dealing with the legendary Beidou. Golden Alligator agrees to help you find the treasure and marks some possible locations for you to check out. Visit each of them and Golden Alligator will suggest that a poem holds the key to finding the prize. Visit the ruins long forsaken to find that the treasure is a message in a bottle. The deceased writer asks whoever finds the note to return it to their mother, Minamoto Kotomi. She lives in a seaside house. Once you've dropped off the memento, the Hangout Event ends with the Sakura Blooms Upon Guili Fell ending.
Beneath The Surface
As part of your naval training, Beidou shows you to some skirmish boats and asks you to test your piloting skills. A minigame will follow where you need to collect as many Wavesplitter Insignias as you can within two minutes. Regardless of how well you do, the storyline will continue. If you collect all thirteen within the time limit Beidou's heartbeat meter will increase, but as this Hangout Event doesn't check heartbeat status it's not relevant.
After the boating challenge, rendezvous with Beidou in Liyue Harbor. She explains that the Crux also makes money through trade, and takes you to meet various business contacts. You'll be introduced to Mora-Grubber, then follow Beidou around the harbor to speak with Nei, Wai, and Mr. Iron Abacus. Beidou reveals that this venture may not be entirely on the up-and-up and that the transaction will go down in Guyun Stone Forest late at night.
If you visit Guyun Stone Forest between the hours of 0:00 and 5:00, you'll find Mr. Iron Abacus waiting to do the deal. The trade is interrupted by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, who accuse Beidou of dealing in contraband, but the goods turn out to be nothing more than potatoes. Beidou takes you for a walk on the beach and explains that while the Ministry was watching her like a hawk, Mora-Grubber was able to carry out the real transaction unnoticed. She then invites you to join the Crux once your journey is over, concluding the Hangout with the ending Once Everything Is Over. You will also unlock the achievement Guyun Buyer's Club.
Life on the High Seas
Beidou sends you to learn from seasoned sailors - pay attention, there will be a quiz! Speak with Yinxing, Huixing, and Xu Liushi to learn about medicine, navigation, and weather respectively. When you return to Beidou she will ask you questions based on what you've learned. The correct answers are:
- What is the single biggest danger facing crew members?
- Underestimating danger.
- The supplementary chart has lots of lines in various colors for added reference. What is the purpose of these lines?
- To mark distances.
- How can we reliably predict waterspouts, so we can avoid them?
- The presence of dark clouds and strong winds in opposite directions, plus white vortices in the clouds.
If you get one or fewer answers correct, Beidou suggests that maybe you aren't cut out for sailing and brings you to Liyue Harbor, where you'll receive the Beneath The Surface scenario instead of continuing Life on the High Seas.
Assuming you got two or more correct answers, Beidou will invite you to join in the day's recreational activity, a photography class. Unfortunately, the instructor has called out sick, but the Traveler agrees to teach the class instead. Beidou asks you to choose a crewmate to model for the camera. Anyone you choose other than Beidou will make an excuse as to why they can't, and you'll eventually have to select Beidou to continue. Beidou doesn't feel comfortable posing in the current locale, and after some back-and-forth will ask you to suggest a different spot. You must select the fishing village near Wangshu Inn. Any other option will cause Beidou to back out, ending the Hangout Event in failure.
Once you're in the fishing village, take a walk with Beidou looking for a suitable spot. She talks about her memories of the place, opening up to the Traveler before eventually posing for the photo. Asking her to strike a flirtatious pose gets her flustered, resulting in an embarrassing photo and the Flirtatious ending to the Hangout Event. Any other pose gives the Photography Class For Two ending, where the photo comes out lovely but Beidou confiscates it and refuses to give it back.

After unlocking a new ending, you'll receive rewards based on the total number of endings unlocked. These rewards are as follows:
