Genshin Impact is a game that just keeps growing, as is proven by the new Inazuma region. In Inazuma, there are a host of new quests for you to take on, including some that will give you large sums of primo gems upon completion. One of the longest quest chains in Inazuma is the Sakura Cleansing Ritual.
This quest can be accessed the moment you get out of Ritou and is needed to unlock many of the hidden areas in Inazuma, including a domain that is located under the sea. The guide below is here to walk you through the many different parts of the quest.
A Strange Story in Konda
The quest begins right outside of Konda village.
- On the road before the small village, there is a fox shrine — a masked shrine maiden will be standing in front of the shrine.
- To begin the quest, hit the shrine altar with an electro attack to reveal a ward.
- Afterward, the unnamed maiden will instruct you to uncover the mystery in Konda Village.
- Go to the village and talk to the child Futaba, the child on the roof, Takeru, Konda Densuke, and Saimon Eri to learn about three mysterious spots near the village.
- After talking with all four, the areas will be marked on your map, go to each and pick up the corresponding piece of evidence.
- Once you're done, head back into Konda Village and talk to Konda Densuke.
- You will need to present him the items you found in the following order: Purse, Cargo Bag, then List.
- Afterward, climb onto the roof of his house and pick up the diary to reveal the location of the well key. The key is hidden under the wreckage of a house in a mound of dirt.
- After getting the key, head back to the well and make your way through the electro shield to the Sacred Sakura Tree’s root.
- You will need to order the electro mechanism so they create the same design shown on the shrine and then defeat a samurai.
- Once you are done, go through the room's electro shield and grab the key off the table in the last room.
Sacrificial Offering
The next quest in the chain is called Sacrificial offering and will take you to an abandoned shrine right up the road from Konda village.
- When you are walking up to the shrine, you will see a shrine maiden's shadow. Interact with it to get it to move.
- There are three shadows situated around the area and a circle of stone foxes to the side of the shrine.
- Once you interact with each of them enough, they will all move to the circle revealing a book.
- Once the book is revealed, grab it and head to the Grand Narakami Shrine to talk to the marked shrine maiden. She will give you the memento lense to use at the abandoned shrine.
- You will want to start at the bottom of the path and make your way back up using the lens on the small fox statues embedded with electro energy.
- Interacting with all of them will give you the keyword needed to use at the large fox shrine.
- Once you have the keywords, interacting with the fox will give you the next ward.
- Just head to the nearby river, where you will find a locked gate and can use the key you picked up in the well to gain access to the next Sakura Root.
- Here you will need to match a pattern again and then defeat a samurai.
Cleansing Defilement
Next, head to Chinju Forest, where you will be led to a large Tamils statue that will ask you to find three Tanuki children. The locations of the children are as followed:
- On the steps to the shrine
- Disguised as a barrel surrounded by Hilichurls
- Disguised as three torches near the river
After finding the Tanuki, head back to the statue and then to the bottom of the nearby cliff where the next root will be revealed; once again, there will be a puzzle to solve and a battle with a samurai.
Kamisato Estate Sakura Root
- You will want to head to the beach right below Ayaka’s house. Here you will find a fox shrine; use the memento lens on it to grab the ward.
- You will now want to summon your Waverider and head to the nearby island; it has a shipwreck on it, so it’s hard to miss.
- Here you will find a hole with fox statues, use the lens again to reveal the entrance to the root, complete the puzzle, and defeat the samurai.
Araumi Sakura Root
You will need to venture to the ruins in Araumi.
- Here you will find electro pillars; you will want to activate them all to unlock the pathway hidden inside the remains of the stone tower.
- Once you are inside, use the memento lens on the kitsune statues past the electro barrier, hit the large statue with an electro attack to get the last ward, and then head to the last root located behind the electro barrier.
Tip: While you are inside, be sure to solve the extra puzzle to unlock the Araumi Domain.
Yougou Cleansing
- Once you have cleansed the last root, head back to the well in Konda Village.
- You will be sent to Mt. Yougou, where you will soon need to face off against a boss and solve some more puzzles.
- You should be ready for a hard fight and ensure that you have your best combat team out.
Tip: To make the fight a bit easier, use a shield character like Zhongli and an insulation potion to help protect your team from electro damage.
