A four-star playable character, Kaeya is a Cryo-using sword-wielding heavy-hitter in Genshin Impact. You have a few different ways to gain him - either through Paimon’s Bargains, Wish Events, or through completion of the Crash Course storyline. He’s affiliated with the Knights of Favonious, but he operates somewhat freely throughout Mondstadt.

When selecting a weapon for Kaeya, you’ll want to focus on swords that offer Energy Recharge. Since he deals so much damage with each attack, he drains his energy quick, so you’ll want to equip him with every possible benefit to avoid having him sidelined for too long during a fight.

10/10 The Skyrider Sword – Three Star

You’ll pull the Skyrider Sword through Wishes, or if you encounter Pan Guan’er during your travels you can get gain it through conversation. The Base Attack gets a boost ranging from 38 to 354, based on Kaeya’s level. Anytime you use his Elemental Burst an extra 12 percent increase to Attack and Movement Speed will be added for 15 seconds.

The secondary stat for the Skyrider Sword is Energy Recharge, which is crucial for Kaeya’s stamina on the battlefield. The increase will be between 11.3 and 51.7 percent.

9/10 The Alley Flash – Four Star

Only obtainable through Weapon Event Wishes, the Alley Flash increases the Base Attack of the wielder by 45 all the way up to 620 for a fully leveled up character. The secondary stat will give a slight boost to Elemental Mastery between 12 to 55, which helps with increasing Kaeya’s overall stats.

You’ll also see a bump to Kaeya’s damage by 12 percent, and since he’s a strong combatant to begin with, this will make him one of the most powerful team members.

8/10 The Prototype Rancour – Four Star

An easier four-star sword to obtain, you can forge it yourself at the blacksmith’s shop, or get it as a reward for hitting Adventure Rank 10. Kaeya’s Base Attack will increase between 44 and 565 based on his level, and his Physical Damage bonus bumps up between 7.5 and 34.5 percent as the secondary stat.

When he successfully hits a target, his Normal and Charged Attacks increase their Attack and Defense by four percent for six seconds. This can be stacked a total of four times.

7/10 The Blackcliff Longsword – Four Star

You’ll have to go through Paimon’s Bargains to get the Blackcliff Longsword. It will give you a 44 to 565 increase to Kaeya’s Base Attack, with a secondary stat increase to the Crit Damage he deals from eight to 36.8 percent, all based on his level.

Once he’s defeated one of his enemies with the Longsword, Attack is increased by 12 percent for 30 seconds. You can stack this effect up to three times, but each stack is independent of the others, meaning it won’t prevent you from gaining another as each one ends.

6/10 The Flute – Four Star

Obtained through Wishes, the Flute elevates Base Attack between 42 and 510, based on Kaeya’s level. The Flute also has a secondary stat focused on Attack, giving an additional nine to 41.3 percent boost.

The key with Kaeya is to focus on his high damage numbers if you can’t focus on Energy Recharge. The Flute is good for this because it gives his Normal and Charged Attacks a Harmonic with each hit. Once he gets five Harmonics, this will trigger the Power of Music that deals 100 percent Attack Damage to all surrounding enemies, allowing him to win even faster.

5/10 The Iron Sting – Four Star

Easy to get, the Iron Sting is a weapon you can forge on your own at the blacksmith’s shop. You’ll get a boost to your Base Attack ranging between 42 and 510. The secondary stat for the Iron Sting is a 36 to 165 increase to Elemental Mastery.

4/10 The Sacrificial Sword – Four Star

You’ll pull the Sacrificial Sword through Wishes. The secondary stat is more beneficial to Kaeya since it’s a boost to Energy Recharge of 13.3 to 61.3 percent, but it gives an increase to his Base Attack ranging from 41 to 454, as well.

When Kaeya uses his Elemental Skill to deal damage to an enemy, that skill will have a 40 percent chance to end its own cooldown period. This can be used once every 30 seconds.

3/10 The Favonius Sword – Four Star

Once you collect the Favonius Sword through Wishes, you can equip Kaeya with it to give him an Energy Recharge substat between 13.3 and 61.3 percent, much like with the Sacrificial Sword. His Base Attack will increase between 41 and 454 based on his level, as well.

Crit hits with this sword will have a 60 percent chance of generating Elemental Particles that are then used to produce six Energy for Kaeya. This will happen once every 12 seconds in use, making it the better for Kaeya if you’re focused on his Energy.

2/10 The Festering Desire – Four Star

Potentially the most difficult to get for Kaeya, you can only get the Festering Desire from the Chalk Prince and the Dragon Event. The secondary stat with the Festering Desire is an Energy Recharge from 10 to 45.9 percent, making it a valuable option if you can get it.

The Base Attack boost ranges from 42 to 510, and the Elemental Skill damage will increase by 16 percent. Along with this you’ll get a six percent Crit Rate bump on the Elemental Skill, too.

1/10 The Skyward Blade – Five Star

One of the most recommended weapons to equip Kaeya with, the Skyward Blade is somewhat easy to get through Wishes. It gives him a Base Attack boost from 46 to 608, but the substat is the bigger attraction. It will give his Energy Recharge an increase from 12 to 55.1 percent based on his level.

Kaeya will also get a Crit Rate increase of four percent, and he’ll gain the Skypiercing Might when he uses his Elemental Burst. This will increase his Movement Speed by ten percent, as well as his Attack Speed. Lastly, his Normal and Charged hits will have an extra 20 percent damage.
