Genshin Impact's newest five-star character is Shenhe, a Cryo polearm user that hails from Liyue. She's a fantastic addition to your team, so if you're hoping to level up her talents and help her reach her peak combat capabilities, you'll need some materials and Mora.

Shenhe requires similar materials to other Cryo characters and characters from Liyue. Read on to see everything you'll need to max out Shenhe's level and talents.

Leveling Materials

It takes 8,362,650 EXP for Shenhe to reach level 90, just like every other character. You can do this by way of combat and leveling materials, though this combination of the latter will get you there without much wasted XP:

Shenhe's Ascension Cost and Item Locations

Shivada Jade gemstones will be Shenhe's friend, as she needs quite a few to ascend. As a Cryo character, she uses this particular series. Here's how many you'll need in total:

Shenhe doesn't just use some gemstones to ascend, though. You'll also need quite a few other items.

Head to the new Enkanomiya area for one of the ascension materials Shenhe requires. Here, you'll find a boss fight with the Bathysmal Vishap Herd, from which you can obtain Dragonheir's False Fins.

Additionally, you'll need some Whopperflower drops. Luckily, these monsters can be found almost anywhere.

You'll need to check out the cliffs and mountaintops of Liyue for some Qingxin flowers. You can also grow them yourself in your Serenitea Pot or purchase them from the Bubu Pharmacy. Herbalist Gui sells ten Qingxin for 600 Mora each. He restocks them every three days.

Shenhe's Talent Materials

Shenhe has three talents that can be upgraded, like every other character. To do so, you'll need a few items, listed here:

Shenhe's talent books are those of the Prosperity series. These can be obtained from the Taishan Mansion domain on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

Keep an eye out for Whopperflowers, too, as you don't just need their drops for Shenhe's ascension — you'll need them for her talents too.

Hellfire Butterflies are a drop from the La Signora boss fight trounce domain, which you can challenge once per week. This fight can reward Hellfire Butterflies if you defeat La Signora at level 70 or higher.

Finally, Crowns of Insight are obtained in a couple of ways. You can grab a couple by making offerings to Teyvat's sacred trees, the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma and the Frostbearing Tree on Dragonspine. They are also available as rewards from some time-limited events.
