Genshin Impact contains a total of seven elements, but the game was first released with six. The last element, Dendro, was added along with Sumeru in the Version 3.0 update. Collei, a forest ranger working under Tighnari, is the first Dendro four-star character that comes with a lot of expectations.

Collei comes with some unique skills that are easy to understand, and they allow for a lot of synergy with the character. The best part is that she has her own boomerang! She can fit in multiple different teams and use the Dendro element to provide many buffs.

Dendro Off-Field Damage Build

This build allows Collei to fit in her intended role as an off-field steady damage dealing character. Both her Elemental Skill and Burst can deal a good amount of damage while applying constant Dendro element on the enemy.

This build will make use of her best-in-slot artifact set, Deepwood Memories. This set got released in Sumeru and can be farmed in the Spire of Solitary Enlightenment domain to the left of The Chasm area. Apart from providing Dendro DMG Bonus, this set also decreases the opponent's Dendro RES. This artifact set bonus can be triggered when the character is not on the field, too. While using this artifact, Collei will have some energy problems. This can be solved to some extent with her first constellation.

To further solve this energy problem, a weapon with ER as the main stat is a perfect fit for this build. Elegy for the End fits the bill perfectly since its passive suits her playstyle as well. You can easily get up to 160 Elemental Mastery and a 20 percent ATK bonus for all party members while using this weapon on Collei. Sacrificial Bow, End of the Line, Fading Twilight, and Favonius Warbow can be good replacements if you don't have access to Elegy. Sacrificial Bow will require more field time for the character, but it allows the Burst to charge up much faster since you can use your Skill twice.

Energetic Support Build

There is a perfect build that allows you to solve all energy problems that Collei has while dealing almost the same amount of damage as the off-field build. If you build this correctly, you can have 100 percent uptime on your Burst, allowing you to deal constant damage and apply a lot of Dendro.

Since this build revolves around using her Burst multiple times, it relies both on raw and elemental reaction damage to be decent. The artifact set that brings this build together is the Emblem of Severed Fate, arguably one of the best evergreen artifact sets in Genshin. It gives you another 20 percent Energy Recharge, and it increases your Burst DMG based on your Energy Recharge. Having around 200 percent ER with this set makes this build dangerous for the enemies. Combined with particles from another Dendro character, you'll be unstoppable.

The weapons for this build are Amos' Bow or Elegy for the End depending on your build and team composition. If you want to benefit from the ATK bonus from Amos' Bow, you'll have to use the sands with Energy Recharge as a main stat. On the other hand, any four-star weapon with ATK percentage or Energy Recharge main stat can be a replacement for these weapons for players that don't have access to them.

Amos' Bow's passive is kind of useless for Collei but it's still a great weapon to provide raw damage because of its base ATK and ATK percentage.

Reaction-Based Support Build

With the addition of Dendro in the set of elements on Genshin, wanting to build Collei around different reaction-based damage is understandable. Fortunately, this build allows you to do just that, as it lets you deal more reaction damage than you can imagine.

Gilded Dreams is another artifact set that can be farmed in the same domain as the Deepwood Memories, and that's what you'll need for this build. The set bonus lets you have a ton of Elemental Mastery or ATK percentage depending on your party.

Considering that this is a reaction-based team, you'll mostly be getting extra Elemental Mastery using this build. The stringless is the cherry on top of this build. It gives you another 165 Elemental Mastery and increases your Elemental Skill and Burst damage.

Windblume Ode can be a decent replacement if you don't have access to The Stringless, but this was a limited-time event weapon that cannot be acquired anymore. With the amount of Elemental Mastery you get using this build, the elemental reaction damage will surprise you.

This build can be combined with characters like Kaedehara Kazuha to provide even more Elemental Mastery for the team.

Damage Dealer Build

Even if Collei's kit signals her being off-field support, it doesn't mean that you can't build her as the main DPS. While this is not the most efficient choice, it is still possible. This build also makes use of the Gilded Dreams artifact set.

Any artifacts with ATK percentage as a two-piece bonus can be replaced in this scenario for a damage boost. Combine this with any weapon with Crit Rate/DMG as the main stat and building her will become a lot easier for you. This is because the hardest thing to achieve in the game is a good Crit ratio on the characters. While having a good supply of Crit, Elemental Mastery, and ATK Percentage (Collei's ascension stat), you have a lot less to focus on.

Artifact Stat Priority For Collei

The artifacts in Genshin are RNG based and they can roll into a bunch of stats that can be the deciding factor in your character's usefulness. Fortunately, Collei isn't too selective with her stat choices, and they're as follows:

Artifact Type Main Stat Sub Stat
Flower HP Crit Rate/DMG > ATK Percentage > Energy Recharge > Elemental Mastery
Feather Flat ATK Crit Rate/DMG > ATK Percentage > Energy Recharge > Elemental Mastery
Sands ATK Percentage/Energy Recharge (depends on your team composition and weapon) Crit Rate/DMG > Energy Recharge/ATK Percentage >Elemental Mastery
Goblet Dendro DMG Bonus Crit Rate/DMG > ATK Percentage > Energy Recharge > Elemental Mastery
Circlet Crit Rate/DMG Crit DMG/Rate > ATK Percentage > Energy Recharge > Elemental Mastery

Talent Priority For Collei

Every character in Genshin Impact comes with three talents that can be upgraded up to level ten by normal means. The first one includes their normal, charged, and plunging attacks, followed by their Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst.

For Collei, as far as you're not going for the main DPS build, her normal attack talent doesn't need to be upgraded since she serves as an off-field damage dealer.

Her Burst deals a lot more damage than her Skill, and since the particles you get from the Skill aren't affected by its level, Burst takes priority. Once you have the Burst leveled to your desired level, you can work on her Skill as well.

Collei's Constellations

Collei has a cat figure as her constellations and it looks absolutely amazing. Here's what all of her constellations do:

  1. Deepwood Patrol - When Collei's in the party and not on the field, her Energy Recharge is increased by 20 percent. This constellation helps a lot when you don't have the required recharge on her.
  2. Through Hill and Copse - This constellation makes it so you get the Flowal Sidewinder effect even if you don't trigger any Dendro reactions. If you do trigger any reactions, the duration of this effect increases by three seconds.
  3. Scent of Summer - Increases the level of her Elemental Skill by three.
  4. Gift of the Woods - Using your Elemental Burst increases every party member's Elemental Mastery by 60 for 20 seconds. This doesn't include Collei herself.
  5. All Embers - Increases the level of her Elemental Burst by three.
  6. Forest of Falling Arrows - Whenever your Elemental Skill hits an opponent, it creates a smaller Burst zone dealing 200 percent of her ATK as Dendro DMG. Only one such zone can be created from one Skill.
